Price of clothes

Is it just me, or has the price of clothes skyrocketed?, This weekend i was looking for some winter clothes, was at Edgars and could not find a single jacket/pullover under R600, on average they are between R800 – R1200, normally i would buy Stone Harbour as it was a quality brand at a reasonable price, now the prices are in line with Jeep :-O
Then I went to Woolies as the “SuperSport” range is my next fav branding, R900 vir a jacket, WTF
Clothing city is still okayish with their prices, just a shame they stock hundreds of the same ugly clothes :-(
Mr Price Sport has a few well priced jackets, but their sizes are so inconsistent, their XXL is normally to small, while woolies XXL is to big.....the quality of MRP is also not anything to brag about.

There has to be a way of buying clothes for a little cheaper, cant we buy directly from the wholesaler?, does anyone know about a shop in pretoria which is not entirely insane? at this stage i'll even consider knockoff's if i could find some.
Im not after brands or anything, anything that looks nice, but these days everything is branded.
When Jeep started out, i used to buy clothes from the Jeep shop, it was cheap and excellent quality clothes, the moment it became popular the price increased x3, i just find it unacceptable paying R900 for a piece of material.

I agree.

I challenge anyone to find a chinese made shirt or pants at Edgars or Woolies for less than R300.

If you do its Mr Price quality and fit.

Even the common size 36 has become short and tight.

It's very hard to find stuff that fits me. I swear they make all SA clothes geared towards short men with boeps and chunky thighs.

I cannot find a pants for my leg length....(from thin to fat...I have always struggled with this). They are all too long.

I struggle a lot to find shoes that fit perfectly.

I just paid R 1200 for a pair CAT shoes but I had to buy a pair of memory foam inners as well for R200.

I'm waiting for the cheapskates in this thread to lambaste you on spending R1200 for a pair of good quality shoes that will probably last you a good few years. They could've bought 20 ****ty pep t-shirts for that money :p

R1200 is justifiable for something like shoes but is ridiculous to pay that for a shirt though. That said I bought board shorts the other day and,was in a hurry... R750... ****ING RIDICULOUS!

Maybe I'm too tech inclined but I'll never spend more than R500 on shoes or R300 on a T-shirt.

I hope I didn't waste the money. I hope the leather stretches a bit. The shoes are just a tad too snug.

These are the shoes. I hope the leather just stretches a 1/2mm in either direction.

Well getting these for R500 would be impossible in my neck of the woods. I bought mine at a local Tekkie Town.

You mean your legs go from thin to fat?

I have the opposite problem; they are all too short.

Found a nicely fitting pair of levi's...1.5k. I tell the sales person they fit nicely but too expensive. She comes back with the exact same thing (style, size etc)...half the price & slightly different blue fabric. Still puzzled as to how that works but whatever. :D
