Does anyone here have experience with privileged access management. I am trying to compare 5 providers but cannot see which would one is the best or the best solution for us.

The deciding factors is
Price
Local references
Local support
etc.

The contenders are
Thycotic,CyberArk,Bomgar,Beyondtrust and centrify.

Any help would be appreciated
thanks

Hi, what are you looking to do?

From the above, that's important "non-functional" requirements.

I would suggest that you evaluate your requirements, get some ideas from the brochures available online (even if you are an SME in the space, it helps) and then evaluate the products.

See if you can trial a PoC first in a mini-staging environment to actually see the product in action. Most of the vendors on that list should be permissible to that.

Get a partner or SI to do the comparison and work for you.
PoC the top two, make a decision from there

@wolverine_dcp I have evaluated most of these and implemented three of them. What do you want to know?

A lot hinges on the size of your organization, and the kind of architecture that you favour. Each one has its own unique value add.

I would skip CA. Nothing special, they don’t have much market share. Their support for disparate systems isnt as good as the others.

Bomgar and more recently BeyondTrust were acquired by the same company, along with Avecto. As a result, I would stay away from these for a while. BT has good partner support.

Centrify is ok, but I don’t like the architecture. When I worked with the local partners, they were not good.

This leaves cyberark and Thycotic. Thycotic is the new kid on the block and spend their time trying to keep up with Cyberark. While they are doing this, they will never innovate. However, depending on your requirements they may be ok.

Cyberark is a solid choice, but may cost you. They will never win a price war with Thycotic, but you get what you pay for. Thycotic doesn’t have a lot of local support. Cyberark, like BT, has good local partners (and also has local Cyberark technical staff).

We compared a few years ago and Cyberark was the only one that ticked all of the boxes for us.
