Hi there ProAsm, long time [:)]

You probably know me, and know that I havent had any REAL problems with speed (512k, tower 82/126 radiokop)

But the last 2-3 days I've had terrible speeds, barely getting 14k downloads, and when I do browsing it's awfully slow.

I noticed on Sentech's super hot and up to date noticeboard that they're upgrading from the 18th to the 25th for the 256k users, but I thought 512k/128k would be unaffected?

Obviously, "sorry, but you are the first person to report a problem with that tower" response is what I am getting from the call centre.

As I usually give about 2-3 days before actually insisting in opening a ticket re: speed, before I do this, I would like to hear from you about what is going on?

I'm not one of these dudes that needs to know EXACTLY what is going on, as I understand it is confidential. Just that why I am experiencing such low speeds suddenly? wtf?

I read that notice as "The upgrade will benefit only the 256K customers initially" and not as "During this period the 128K and 512K clients will be unaffected". I too would have thought the 512K ppl to be unaffected, being on a different IP range, but that's just me

noone - give it till the end of the month as things are changing for everyone, not just the 256k users but everyone should benefit, it just takes a bit of time.
Right now and during the next few days the 512k users could suffer a bit.
In Durbs its easy as I can switch everyone in one foul swoop once we are ready but in Jhb its another kettle of fish.
Please just hang in there [;)]

Okay cool, but if nothing changes then Id like some of that bribe you got from Sentech....

No bribe here and I dont go by talk and recently I 'see' things and they look good.
Some of the research results I dont agree with but then I dont have all the stats.
Eitherway it has to be a win win situation else we all start digging [:)]

Yea I know, just kidding around with the bribe thing, although, getting some cash right about now wouldn't be a BAD thing for me :)

well august is almost over, I can't wait to see some results or the biggest consumer attack on a company, remember... if you guys need explosives, I'm your man. C4, tons of it... low prices, lower if they're being strapped to the Sentech building :p

I really think sentech will sort this stupid crap out. My speeds have been shocking the last few days as well but realistically sentech still need to make money and if they cannot provide by the end of the month then there is going to be a huge backlash and returning of modems.

Mr bob: Can we use some of that C4 for varsity as well? [:D]
