Hi Guys

Forgive me if this has already been addressed in a previous thread ... but I am pulling out my hair trying to make a backup of a DVD. I use DVD Shrink (latest vers.) usually but recently it does not want to copy any dvd's.

Tried using dvd decrypt ... gives me the error that cannot read a sector error. ...

Couple things:
Are the new dvds loaded with more complex anti-copy protection?
Maybe my dvd writer is giving up on me (about 10 months old Sony DVD).

This has happened on three different recent DVD's so I don't think it is a scratched disc.

One of the DVD is distributedby Sony ... I am scared to copy it cos of some virus stuff I heard they've imbedded.

Please advise me as to a suitable program I can use.

Thanks

SDD

Not that I think it'll work but here's how:
Run 'GPEDIT.MSC'
Select 'Administrative templates / System'
Double click on 'Turn off autoplay' in the right pane
'Enable'

Best bet is to get yourself AnyDVD

I can vouch for DVD Fab Decrypter. Hasn't had a disk yet that it can't decrypt.
