Problem sending SMS from MTN to Vodacom

Whenever I send a sms from my MTN Nokia 61 to my wife's Vodacom SE P990, the message is cut off (truncated). Only half of the message is send through to the Vodacom side.

Yes I have done a search on this forum and could not find any advice. Do any of you have a similar problem?
