Hey guys, it's me again asking really basic questions

I have just received my new HP LP2065 monitor. I have connected the power and DVI cable and the USB cable that came with the monitor. I have then installed the monitor driver that came with the monitor.

However, I still get little flashing pixels of green all over the display ... what am I missing?

Take a soft cloth and GENTLY try rubbing the pixels and see if it goes away and report back.

You may want to check the pins on the connectors in case they've been bent/damaged.

Also please check the following:
1) Do the pixels move if you scroll up or down? (open a browser fullscreen and scroll up and down)
2) Is the DVI cable extended or near any magnetic source?
3) Is the monitor near any magnetic/electrical source?
4) Are the pixels visible during the bootup or just when you are in windows/linux?

Hey Quovadis,

1 - Pixels move all over the place ... when I scroll they move with the image
2 - DVI cable is extended and not near any magnetic source
3 - NO
4 - only when in windows ... during boot up it looks fine

Hi Vikkie

Possible solutions:

1) Update video card driver (or reinstall a fresh downloaded version)
2) Update monitor driver (or set to a generic display)
3) Change resolution and/or refresh rates to see if that has any impact.

If they scroll with the image its not a monitor problem. Its 90% most likely a software/driver issue.

I read somewhere on the net that this was a problem with some HP monitors, but don't take my word as absolute truth.

If it only happens when in Windows itself, then it more or less indicates a driver problem. Try maybe updating your video card drivers, and then the monitor driver as well, provided there is a later driver available.

Good luck and hope it works out. :)

Thanks for all the help guys ... problem is sorted. Turns out it was a DVI cable problem. Changed the cable and problem is gone ... maybe dirty contacts.

Thanks :)

u will probably find one of your pins was a little too short in one of the plugs. I had that once.
