Hey all,
Well... where to start. Since yesterday my connection speeds have really been bad (as in 2-3 kb/sec on average) and obviously the same thing today. I have sent iBurst an email and phoned then 2x to find out what is happening. I have been told that they are experiencing problems with the connections after the cap has been reached and cannot do anything before Tuesday as that is supposed to be when their technical guys will "fix" the problem. I guess we will wait and see.
However, i find that the speed gets throttled a bit when surfing the web (http protocol seems to have not been capped, as I seem to be getting very good speeds - I am going to try and see if any proxy will help with the connection) and isn't throttled when using messenger programs, and p2p. So, I have sort of come up with a slight solution for this at the temporary moment. Try using MSN Web Messenger instead of the Messenger program or Trillian (which is what I have been using for years and find it excellent).
You can still keep your p2p software open cause you never know something could still continue to download eventhough there are these pathetic speeds.
Also, try and download a pinging program which could help to keep your connection alive eventhough you might not be getting disconnected, it could still help by throttling your connection a bit. Not sure why it is like this, but seems to help a bit.
I will add some more help and information here within the next few minutes in order you help you all.
