Hello All,

i have seen these 2 specials and am wondering (i have checked the specs) which is the better tab to get for my daughter. I don't have moola for ipads or galaxy tabs. the prestigio gives a nice comprehensive detail on the specs, yet i don't understand how one can watch 1080 movies on a 800x400 screen. but in any case, they both come out as 1ghz processors, difference is one has a single, the other dual. Just all a bit confusing. So adive on these 2 is appreciated.

I'd get the dual core.

The Proline is also a local brand, you'll can get support for it if I'm not mistaken.

These tablets are both made by Pegatron. I'm sure they look exactly the same too.

MSI Primo 73 has my vote, If the specs are right, on the above neither one, though the extra's on the proline is nice, I wouldn't go with either one

CUBE U25GT2-H Dual-Core 8GB
or
Ainol NOVO8 Mini 8GB

They are not on special, but still awesome tabs.

Take a look at the msi 71, similar specs to the 73

I bought the Proline R718DC (7’ Dual core processor – WIFI) in December for my daughter and she loves it. Proline is supplied by Pinnacle so there is support in SA

Another option is for Lenovo Ideapad A3000 from Telkom Mobile - R99pm x 24 and you get 500MB data and 1.5GB night owl (11pm to 5am). But check if you have TM coverage where it will be used.

I has dual sim, so can have a sim for data use and another one for SMS. Fast and responsive. Has 13GB available for multimedia content. 1024 x 600 resolution.

I got one this weekend, loving it.

I disagree. For kids it won't matter. Perhaps if it were for an adult, the bigger space would come in handy

What is exactly is going to be done with the tab, the OP's first post indicates movies, so moar space ;)

Sort of. Was just a query on how a 800x400 screen resolution can play 1080 movies. but use is for daughter. They are starting computers and although this is great, i don't personally feel the old keyboard and mouse is the future of computing. So would like to have this for her to play and learn on as a backup with the main desktop learning they doing now. Just don't want it to be more frustrating than fun for her to use. (and by her, i mean her and i).

That telkom mobile option is great, but REALLY don't need the data.
