I intend runnig the Torque Pro app to monitor my cars ECU parameters via an ELM327 dongle that uses bluetooth. My phones screen is too small.

6 yrs.
Bought one for my wife, same experience.I got the Prestigio for my son , bought it from Musica.
waste of money...very slow and laggy.
Another option is for Lenovo Ideapad A3000 from Telkom Mobile - R99pm x 24 and you get 500MB data and 1.5GB night owl (11pm to 5am). But check if you have TM coverage where it will be used.
I has dual sim, so can have a sim for data use and another one for SMS. Fast and responsive. Has 13GB available for multimedia content. 1024 x 600 resolution.
I got one this weekend, loving it.
Ok, you do know the MSI has bluetooth right? Most, if not all tablets do.
I would still go for the 71, or if you are willing to spend a little more, the lenovo. I bought two 71's as birthday presents for my 7 and 9 year old nieces last month. Well built, steady and really quick.
According to Telkom it's out of stock since Friday sigh, but will see. it is a great deal

i also want to get a cheap tablet for my car that has bluetooth functionality - also have an OBD2 Bluetooth dongle. Most of the "cheap" entry level tablets are wifi only. if its in the car, its going to get bashed about/sun/mounting...so dont need anything fancy.
Where did you buy it from, MSI 71?
Telkom Lenovo deal has been pulled apparently, something to do with complaints of the OS on the Lenovo. They still have the Hauwei. But if you scroll down a bit, there is the Galaxy Tab 3 7" for R169. Probably the best deal of them all.
I think Game has the same Lenovo for sale for R 1500.
