Prolonged outage: MyBroadband, BusinessTech, MyGaming

Hi folks

I am really sorry about the prolonged outage last night. The downtime started at 21:30 on 6 June and the problem was resolved at 01:40 on 7 June.

From Hetzner’s network notices: “All network services (websites, email etc.) are currently not available due to the MTN Business national network outage”.

We are still awaiting a full report about the downtime, and will post it here as soon as we receive it.

We know this is not good enough, and will try to ensure that it does not happen again.

Core router dumped its stack? n00b network techie plugged the wrong switch off? Cleaners unplugged an UPS to plug their cleaning equipment in?(don't laugh, it's no urban legend)... Remote admin shut the wrong Pc down?

Should be interesting to know what went wrong, and what they did to rectify it.

And if it's something to do with the generators, why isn't it properly fixed yet?

I stared at the ceiling....noticed some badly painted spots - pondered on what kind of paint they used or was it just the wrong brand..or was the ceiling just uneven. Thought, if rpm was here he would have had an answer for me - then I fell asleep.
