Promotional stock shortage

Hi.

I was wondering if anyone else could get the laptop bolt-on deals advertised in the latest leaflet. The Acer V5 i5 series at R259pm

I have been waiting 3 weeks now and everytime i enquire i get the same answer "we do not know when stock will arrive" the consultant also mentioned that they never received the laptops in the first place.

So, how do you advertise a promotion when there were no stock to begin with? This seems to be false advertising to draw attention!

Im from Cape Town, and the branch is Promonade.

This is BS tactics from Telkom.

We have requested the Supply Chain Department to confirm the availability of stock and we will provide feedback once we receive it.

Just an update.
1) no reply from customer care wrt the email i sent,
2)still no stock at their stores, including century city and waterfront,
3) no further communication on this forum

The consultant i spoke with at waterfront explained that they are still waiting on stock (for this deal/laptop) since last year. Although they still advertising the deal.
I then asked what would happen to those people on the waiting list since the promo ends at the end of March to which he replied "they wont get the laptop"

What is the next step here? Who else can this matter be raised in order to get some real answers?

Oh, i tried phoning customer care, and the consultant had no idea about the promo!

The next step is easy - get it somewhere else. You won't get anywhere with Telkom, that's for sure

This actually happened with the Lenovo Ideapad they advertising on the site, my wife signed up for it they phoned her told her there is no stock. Yet some people were getting it and they are still advertising it on the website?

This is what pisses me off.
They do not have stock but still advertise. A stunt to get people into their stores

What about the advertising department? Cant you get them to stop advertising things supply chain cant supply?

We have liaised with the Supply Chain and they have advised that the stock isn't available as yet, however, they can add your name on the waiting list if it is convenient for you to collect the device from Cape Town branch if required. Please confirm if we can forward your details to store by sending a PM with your ID, contact number and alternative contact number.

I am already on the waiting list at the promonade branch, so i guess we all just need to wait for stock to one day arrive.

You haven't really resolved anything here.
OP wanted to know when stock is arriving - how can your supply chain department not know this?

I can imagine your frustration.
I have no vested interest - it just really annoys me when companies put out customer facing representatives who are not empowered or informed enough to do their jobs properly.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not placing fault on the poor person typing behind @telkommobile. It's a poor attempt at customer engagement born from this ridiculous need to always have social media representation, regardless of the effectiveness thereof.

De ja vu.

Let me preempt the answer for Shah and Richard. TelkomMobile doesn't know when stock will be arriving, and will take a week to hear back from the Supply Chain Department who also don't know when stock will be arriving. If you want, TelkomMobile can organise that you are added to a waiting list so that you can wait for this laptop to be in stock without any estimated time of arrival.
This would be in comparison to your current status of NOT being added to a waiting list while you wait for this laptop to be in stock without any estimated time of arrival.
