I deal with enough traffic every day when I'm leaving Durbanville, how much more traffic is this going to add

Makes good sense having a 2nd Airport , and if memory serves, the back road ties in with a short run to the N1 at the Stellenbosch turn off , and also to Malmesbury and the N7 in the opposite direction. Given the road/traffic situation around C.T. it also makes sense, as the roads and freeways are nowhere near the carrying capacity of Joburgs especially around the current Airport.

Not a lot more if you think about it.

The new cluster developments being built all around Durbanville on a daily basis, add much much more traffic, than a few 100 business men arriving at 7am in the morning and sharing a few Avis cars to get to their meetings.

We shot part of the Long Walk To Freedom movie there on that airport.

Durbanville airport?

Nope, Cape Winelands Airport.
13km from Durbanville
And I believe the runways are parallel to Durbanville
Therefor planes will be taking off and landing parallel.
I dont see how this will be a problem for the Durb peeps
Hell even @MightyQuin arriving home each night is louder than what you would hear 13km away anyways

Sounds like a good idea to me. Hope the government doesn't interfere and make things difficult.

How about the extended R300 bringing more crime to the area?

I live in Brackenfell, not Durbanville...

But My Disco 2 with custom Chevy V8 is loud indeed.
