The Waterfall Solar Park. A proposed plant and solar farm south of Alberton
(Next to the R59, just south of the Heineken Brewery - if you know that area.)
1. The construction of a production plant for the manufacturing of solar panels through the use of a Fluidized Bed Reactor (FBR) to manufacture poly-silicon through the application of hydrochloric acid to silica.The plant will produce 6000 tons of solar grade poly-silicon per annum.
2. The construction of a solar energy plant for the generation of 100MW of electric power
3. The construction of a float glass manufacturing plant (65000 tons per annum)
This project has been a long time coming - the original deal was started in 2008. But it is now available for public approval.
The draft documentation was actually forwarded to me by the local ward councellor for that area - a very capable gent who actually deserves a R1.3 Million salary. (My local councelor is so useless that I only recently found out the ****wit lives in my street.)
