Two one-day internationals, five days of tough test cricket and 20 matches in the Hong Kong sixes tournament will be televised live this weekend.
The first of the three ODIs between South Africa and Bangladesh takes place at Potchefstroom on Friday. Coverage on SuperSport 2 on DStv starts at 14:00.
The second match will be played at Benoni on Sunday, with coverage starting at 09:30. Wednesday’s match in East London will be shown from 14:00, also on SS 2.
People who want to watch some really serious cricket can tune in to the fourth test between India and Australia in Nagpur. The action starts at 05:45 on SS 6 every day.
For something different, cricket enthusiasts can watch the Hong Kong sixes, which will also be shown live on SS 2 on Saturday and Sunday. Coverage starts at 02:00, with 12 matches on Saturday and eight on Sunday.
South Africa, after beating Kenya team in two one-day internationals, have a chance of recording a five-match unbeaten run by white-washing Bangladesh in their three-match series.
It will still be well off the 12 successive ODI victories that the Proteas compiled in 2005 and a very long way off Australia’s record of 21 ODI wins on the trot. But five wins in a row will look a lot better than the four consecutive defeats in England earlier this year.
Bangladesh gave the South Africans a run for their money in the Twenty20 match at the Wanderers in Wednesday, suggesting the Proteas will have to get their act together to complete a 3-0 win in the ODIs.
