Proteas Men Inbound Tour against Pakistan

So good decision to enforce the follow on?

Yes, if we batted, we would have wasted valuable time and we would have had to make sure that we had enough runs on this road of a pitch, while at the same time ensuring we had enough time to bowl them out.
And given the wicket we might have run out of time given how they batted. The follow-on ensured a win, while batting again could have resulted in a draw.

Assuming everyone is fit, which bowlers do we go with for final?
- KG
- Jansen
- George
- Burger
- Nortje
- Keshav
- Paterson
- Mulder
- Bosch
Mulder,kg & Jansen will defenitely play. Keshav unless its an absolute green pitch also a definite. If anrich is fully fit I would bet on shuks going for him.

The third seamer will be a dog fight.

Paterson would have contributed a lot more than what Mulder did this test. Plus mulder is an idiot throwing a ball right at babar who is a saint.

You forgot about Gerald Coetzee :p
But ja I'm glad this is not my decision.

We have enough to play a proper 2nd team as a warmup before the final. Hopefully, then we can also see who is on/in form. Doubt they will do something like this, but it would be the smart thing to do.

Nope - he's on the list. Look again

A strong finish to the series. Came at a good time as a lot of people were criticizing how SA qualified for the test championship final. A performance like this shuts those mouths to a degree!

We can play a pretty decent 2nd team as a warmup before the final.

  1. J . Hermann
  2. L. Senokwane / P. Malan
  3. G. Roelofsen
  4. M. Ackerman
  5. S. Qeshile (wk)
  6. G. Linde
  7. R. De Swadt / B. Swanepoel
  8. K.Simmonds
  9. N, Burger
  10. G. Coetzee
  11. K. Maphaka

    VS

  1. A. Markram
  2. R. Rickleton
  3. T. Stubbs
  4. T, Bavuma
  5. D. Bedingham
  6. K. Verreynne
  7. W. Mulder
  8. M. Jansen
  9. K . Maharaj
  10. K. Rabada
  11. A . Nortje

I don't know what the quota requirements are these days, if the above team needs more quotas. Swop Nortje with Maphaka

The frivolities by which our top order conducts themselves continues to fuel my anxiety. I'd be tempted to bolster the batting stocks with this side... short a spinner, short a bowler, sorry Kesh... I've been so impressed with Bosch's one off test.... I know this side will never see the light of day, but we talking hypothetically here gents...

Rickelton
Tony
Stubbs
Temba
Bedingham
Kyle
Mulder

de Zorzi shouldn't be in the squad. He's averaged 35 across his 75 FC matches (30 in 11 tests). I don't think that merits a place in the top order of a test side.

Yeah, he's a hard sell but I feel compelled as we share an alma mater.

Mulder hasn't been that impressive on his return. I'd say it should be a straight swap - Bosch in for Mulder and keep Kesh.

Then one of the batsmen will have to go unfortunately. For no other reason than the workload will be too much to bear for 3 seamers. Drop Tony for Kwena and that also solves the "balance" issue...

The quota numbers don't look good so I picked Tony instead of Stubbs. If Shukri is allowed to pick his best then Stubbs instead of Tony. Maharaj or Bosch depending on the type of surface.
