Amla looks like he's struggling. Everytime he reaches out on the front foot to deadbat a ball, he leans on his bat to get himself upright again. Hope it's nothing major...

Ur and Umpire :D nice... are you still involved ?

and yes, agreed, hitting him outside the line will never be given out, or should never be given out.
I first did the exam in the late 80s while playing premier league cricket. Also did a few coaching courses, then run by Yogi Bear! I always maintained (and still do) that if you captain a side you should know the Laws of the game. It also bought me many bonus points with the umpires!!!

Not involved at the moment. Work and business and family keeping me too busy but that will soon be changing. :D

Every player (not just the umps) should know the rules these days. I played club cricket for many years and had to endure the torture that is player umpires. Some of the decisions these guys made. This was my favourite...

You appeal: Howzat?!?
Ump: Not out.
You: Oh ok, what reason?
Ump: I don't need to give you a reason
You: :wtf:

Peach of a delivery. Pitched middle, hit top of off. That would've undone most batsmen. First flutters of nerves here...

Herath to de Villiers, OUT, The Rangannna!!! Superb first ball takes AB out! This is slow, loopy, drifts and dips, spins from the surface, just enough to beat the bat and takes out the off stump. AB, who doesn't really push forward, plays down the wrong line and is made to look like a tailender. That is a corker! However, someone with a bigger stride would have handled that much better. AB was almost playing it from the crease

im planning on retiring early as well, and have a 1 lane "bowling alley" installed in the gentlemans room, together with the stripper poles, strippers, practice nets with a bowling machine.....

Half heard something about hamstring issue.

With regards to AB, to be overly critical, he did not get forward far enough.

Tea Sri Lanka have squeezed in a mindboggling 47 overs this session. South Africa have made only 49, but they have lost only two wickets. Hashim Amla is not in the best shape, he has batted more than 500 deliveries this game, but his resistance is still going strong

Playing a captain's knock. Hamstring problems?

Is it 90 overs maximum a day or is it the minimum of overs that can bowled? Sri Lanka is getting through their overs so quickly 90 overs will be up before scheduled close of play
