Some quotes off cricinfo:

Tweets floating around that this is the first time in seven years that South Africa have taken the field without a player past 100 Tests. Anyone want to debunk that? Might be hard though.

Greg: "The 100+ tests would be correct I believe; Kallis didn't miss many, Boucher (147 tests) certainly missed very few, you had Smith 100+, Ntini had 101 tests and Pollock 108 tests in that time too " Isn't cricket trivia just awesome. AB's on 93, by the way

iain: "@shaf i never mentioned Elgar or Fafs name in my comment. Read carefully i say that they need to go for punch which means they need to set it up.Do u really think any top test team being in that situation would have a player scoring at 20 off 80 balls i doubt it." The point is it's nearly 30 off 80-odd now. He can kick on if he wants to.

Faf is good enough to up his rate if necessary. For the time being, the partnership is accumulating the runs at just [-]under[/-] over 3. Do not see the need to go hell-for-leather right now.

Dave: "Just imagine the thoughts going through Angelo's mind...Knowing that SA has got off to a great start and that AB, Amla and the unpredictable yet exciting QDK still has to come in. That's scary!"

He seems to have forgotten JP who is in good form at the mo.

I want to sing praises but I fear.... I fear that I've got the curse for this series....

As such, I predict that South Africa will lose this match quite convincingly and Elgar isn't good enough to get his hundred ;)

Herath to du Plessis, 1 run, this is a full toss, made so by some quick feet, and Faf has drilled it straight down the ground. Herath tries to get a hand to this, but doesn't. The stumps stop the ball, but the deflection allows Faf to go through to a fifty

Maybe it is a tad slow for some, but he is due his praise.

Amla must be getting quite tired waiting with his gear on for hours. He is not used to this.

The batting order I've been asking for, for a while. Duminy playing as an all-rounder is interesting to say the least.

Perera to Elgar, SIX, that's his century! His second in Tests and screams out loud in triumph! Six to reach the mark and traces the line of his lips to the dressing room. Comes down the track and reaches the pitch and launches it. Knew he had it immediately

Well done

It is working:

"Perera to Elgar, SIX, that's his century! His first in Tests and screams out loud in triumph! Six to reach the mark and traces the line of his lips to the dressing room."

That is true, but rarely has JP's form carried through to the Test arena in recent times.

+1. We can bat at a RR of 3 for 130 overs and if we then have wickets in hand after we reach 400 odd we can tonk a bit.

Maybe it is a tad slow for some, but he is due his praise.

+1. Now I just wish he could get his ODI avg to be higher than his T20 avg

Amla must be getting quite tired waiting with his gear on for hours. He is not used to this.

Haha, I am sure he is meditating or doing some Amla-type thing to get his perfect concentration going.

Lakmal to Elgar, OUT, that is it! Lakmal has done it. All that patience has paid. He was bowling tight, getting the ball to move just enough and this time Elgar got sucked into playing one that looked like coming in, but straightened to take the outside edge to the keeper. He could have left that one really, but you can't fault a man in form. That is purely good bowling from Lakmal
D Elgar c †Chandimal b Lakmal 103 (187b 11x4 3x6) SR: 55.08

Andrew Fernando chirps from the ground "Eranga's split a webbing on his bowling hand. he's gone for stitches. they're not sure yet on how that will affect his availability for the match"

Oh dear.
