True but we really wasted a good start. I watched the whole day and kept on asking myself "when are we going to assert our ascendency?".

And then we let it slip.... Maybe Elgar and Faf gave the other batsmen too much confidence and they did not apply themselves properly, because there was some strange Test match batting later in the day.

Sri Lanka will feel that they had the better day. South Africa has hardly piled on the runs like McD said. The pressure which they put on the SL bowlers was allowed to slip in the last session. And that is what SL will sleep on tonight. Such a pity. Such a pity.
