I am not surprised that our wheels come off spectacularly when we play the Aussies.

Agreed. With the fielding restrictions and the new hard ball coming on to the bat nicely our openers needed to take advantage! Finch and Warner got the Aussies off to a blinder!! What was it? 94 off 11 overs? We been chasing this game ever since. Only time we really looked like winning it was when David and AB were giving it stick in the middle overs!

"The Powerplay went for 17 runs and four wickets" - That blows that theory out of the water. And once again, a very destructive Shane Watson didn't contribute, plus Clarke. Considering Finch&Warner had just gotten starts but gave them away, I'd say Proteas were facing 100 runs less than they should be.

AB did as well as he could, Amla is the only other batsman who would have made a difference. Against a raw pace attack in Australian conditions, they are the only two batsmen who can make a difference. Amla wouldn't have bridged that gap. So the right perspective should be Proteas are already far behind Australia. The next match may just prove that with Smith coming in for Clarke and the other batsmen firing. Whitewash in store.

The balance of the team is off without JP!! Don't think it would have made a difference today but we definitely miss him when he doesn't play..

I wouldn't say we in a rebuilding phase but we are actively trying to fill the void left by Graham Smith and "The King"...

Some small comfort that Johnson couldn't dislodge the tail. Morne klapped him for a four.

Why don't you just piss off?

If SA had caught any of the 5-6 chances they dropped Aus would of had 20-30 runs less and a good chance of winning.

SA behind AUS? The same SA that thrashed them just a few months ago?

Putting more black players in the side is not going to improve the team ok?

Who do you support anyway? I've seen you in the Rugby and Cricket threads talking ****e all over the place.

You seam to enjoy SA losing?

...and the next match with our players firing, may just prove they are at least 100 runs per game behind us.

You're comparing fact with fiction. Just 17 runs while losing 4 wickets IN A POWERPLAY is fact, failing to to take sitters is also fact - both points are testament to poor cricket by the Proteas. Same argument applies in rugby, if the Boks go for points between the sticks instead of going for territory because of their overgrown egos, the game against Ireland would've been different. Closer or Bok win. Either way the Proteas lost because they were poor on the day, as were the Aussies.

Home or away, we can never come out on top after a 3 T20, 7 ODI, 5 Test match series against them. Far more depth in their bowling beyond the all-format favourites - Steyn, Morkel&Tahir, plus they have match winners other than Amla&AB with the bat. More facts for you buddy. We are in this position because other countries are not afraid to field completely different players.;)
