Berhadien 50. 6! Not sure how to feel.

Feel happy for him. We need selected players to deliver regardless of how we feel about their selection.

I can understand if his selection was keeping someone better out but really there isn't.

Top comment. Farhaan has got the potential to be the Proteas' MVP.

LOL @ commentators in highlights

"Rain starts to fall at the SCG... Where'd that come from?"
"It's coming from the sky mate"

Stiaan van Zyl is a similar option. Great first class average and similar average to Behardien in 50 over games. Also bowls the same medium pace stuff. Has more potential as he is much younger and will be part of the test squad in the near future.

But why should Stiaan be givent he kind of patience that Farhaan never got? Don;t pretend the reasons are cricket ones. This is precisely what's wrong with sports in this country! Rossouw is being persisted with and slowly coming right, An Abbott who can't strike and has a bloated average is being given time while a world class seamer (Tsotsobe) sits at home.

Stiaan in my opinion is not suited to LOIs. If he does get selcted it should be as a top 3 batsman. Farhaan completely different in any case so your comparison is moot.

Apart from better overall stats what is more important for me is age. Farhaan at 31 is four years older. He averages 18.8 after 14 innings including today. I just hope he doesn't become another Ontong, who has made 1 century in 195 games at 28 ave and still sometimes are considered for national squads. Hopefully he only fills for Duminy.

I am not much of a Rilee fan, he des not seem mature enough yet, seems like the moment is still too big for him. Scores way too many low scores even at domestic level.

On a sidenote, how do you guys rate that Leie leg spinner from the Lions? Looks an interesting prospect. Also Hardus Viljoen of the Lions, consistently clocked 147kph the other night with 151 fastest. Still young and if they can work on his runup he can be even better.
