The proteas were very very fortunate to beat Zimbabwe in their last match, Australia not so fortunate I'm afraid.

Well done ZIMBABWE!!!

Well done ZIMBABWE!!!

Proteas under performed with the bat, their bowling was good to win the game. Nothing fortunate about it.

The problem with these kind of teams is that they have to do both departments well. They cant make up for poor batting by good bowling and win a game, or the other way around. I think they learnt a lot from the SA game.

They have performed well in these games were they have doctored the pitches to suit themselves. They will again fail miserably at the world cup in aus...

... where comments wil be thrown around that Aus doctored the pitches to suit them.

I honestly wish people would stop playing that card. Every single country prepares pitches to suit them. It is part of cricket - always have been, always will be

Except it seems when it comes to us hosting a series we dont capitalise on that of late. We used to prepare quick seaming wickets years ago but the past few series at home the pitches were not really maximise our bowling. I think we dont back our batsmen. Or maybe we back our bowlers to still get enough out without strengthening the opposition pace attack by giving them a seaming wicket.

That is true because for some reason there is a belief that we have the best spin bowlers in the world. Look at the days when we prepared the "groen mamba" die example. Some of our pitches are unfortunately slow by nature, so it is difficult to prepare them 100% to our strengths.

Aus 81/1 after 18 overs. Hopefully we can prevent them from starting to score faster later in the innings.

Only if we take the pace off the ball. The quicker it comes, the further it goes!!

To a certain extent yes bot never quite seen this big difference in one series. The pitches involving zim are vastly different compared to what SA vs Aus is being played on.

This may help zim in this series but this will not help them prepare for the world cup where they will find pitches with consistent pace and bounce.
