South Africa 157/4 (68.4 ov)

Nyumbu to de Villiers, OUT, Nyumbu has got moves too! In celebration he pulls out a dance that gets this crowd going. De Villiers seems to have had a lapse in concentration. He wanted to hit that over midwicket but wafted at it quite lazily. Sibanda was at midwicket and made no mistake sending Nyumbu into a dance of joy

AB de Villiers c Sibanda b Nyumbu 7 (34b 0x4 0x6) SR: 20.58

Maybe they are trying to compensate for umpire howlers. I hope so. Would be noble of them. No one wants to win like that ... continuously.

The batting response has not been that good. Credit to limited extent to Zim for their tight lines, but Saffers were really tardy. Seems only QDK had any intent on getting on with it. Really hoping tomorrow will be a little more positive.

Pitch seems terribly slow. Seems really hard to get any timing going. Not really conductive to good cricket...

Tortoise (obiosuly) supports South Africa: "Amazing that game after game (that SA either win or draw) people are criticising the run rate. If a team bowls negatively on a tricky pitch the batsman can counter attack or accumulate slowly. Obviously SA believe the best odds are with the latter. I'm happy supporting a team that is result oriented and patient.....not to mention they will not take any risk losing in a one off test away from home to a lowly ranked team. Predict they will still win easily"

Apart from the obvious spelling hash-up ... we have just launched into day three and still plenty of time to effect a solid win in the game (despite the run-rate).

What makes you think Zimbabwe won't be able to bat through day 4? Zimbabwe were well capable of batting for another session and a half were it not for the umpires. The general consensus is clearly that the Proteas attack was disappointing. Spinners are supposed to be key but Duminy didn't trouble any batsmen at all, and Piedt was there to hit and was duly hit. Who will take 10 Zimbabwe wickets to avert a draw? Doubt Steyn will get another 3 for free. Who will be brave enough to bat more adventurously after that? I'm not convinced.

Tiripano to du Plessis, 4 runs, full toss on middle, whipped away towards the midwicket boundary as the ball slows down near the boundary and they get the time to run four!

A big outfield...

I do not need to convince you. Never was my plight. I am quite happy to be assured and confident that the Proteas will take the game.

The lead is all but wiped out and with 6 wickets in hand will establish a useful lead. The rest will be history come stumps on day 5 ;)

What about lettung Faf open the batting, drop Alviro.and then AB can bat at 4 with Van Zyl coming in at 5? Solves the opener issue and moves AB up to no4 where he should be.

I see Riley Rossouw made another double ton 234 odd last week....

AB said he wanted to keep so he must stick to his decision bat at #5 and keep. That's why Thami never formed part of the XI when he deserved that o begin with. No double standards! Next series AB must be fit again and resume his duties.

Dropping Alviro will open up a can of worms. We know Elgar, Duminy, Faf&QdK won't be good for much long. You'll have a revolving door policy if you do that considering Van Zyl, Rossouw, Bavuma plus Thami himself are still waiting in the wings. Elgar,Faf&Duminy went so good not too long ago, almost dropped. Question is why Alviro and not them? remember rumours after Smith threatening to quit if Faf was duly dropped(following poor form) with Thami to come in and keep?

Williams to de Kock, OUT, Williams' turn does it, he gets QDK! He also falls while moving his feet, to a ball that was around middle on length, he flicked it with the turn to midwicket where Sibanda dives forward to take a good low catch

Q de Kock c Sibanda b Williams 81 (152b 5x4 1x6) SR: 53.28

Crestfallen :crying:
