How do you deduce that he's become arrogant.

I agree with MickeyD. It's something about his body language. He walks to the crease and takes guard with an air of entitlement. When he first started out there was more of a nervous energy about him. Now he sometimes looks too relaxed. I could of course be totally off the mark but for me it's very noticeable.

It's the confidence of someone who's proven himself. Saved big test matches

Am I the only one who be following this series with half an eye? Naturally I want a South African series victory but I want good competitive cricket and on the evidence of the first day (and a handful of overs on the second), that's just not going to happen. So when I go onto the cricinfo website and see that SA have scored 30 more runs in the 20 minutes since I last checked, it's a bit of a 'meh' feeling. If this game makes Sunday (without weather interruptions), I will be amazed.

Depending on how quickly we can get the runs, it might even be a plan to have a go at them for the last 10 overs of the day.

First Test, Day 2 - Lunch

SA 449/4 (123 ov)
AB 152
Hash 178*
Stiaan 51*

Minimum of 59 overs remaining today.

37 overs to the next new ball.

37x4 = 148 runs (old ball)
10x6 = 60 runs (new ball)

449+208 = 657 runs... a nice score to declare on.

And we can have a dig at them tonight (light permitting - clouds must bugger off!!!).
