Is Steyn playing?
I'm either to dumb to pick out something smart that you're trying to do ... but if it's a genuine question then yes he's there. We should see his customary mopping up of the tail after tea. If there are odds for him getting 10 wickets in this match I'd like to take a chance. Bursts in nips 3/4 of the remainder then goes on to take 6/7 in the second innings.

it was a genuine question.

Ok so I pick Steyn to finish of the tail instead of Morkel ... but that's an understandable "mistake". :D

Richard: "Its time to drop Steyn." ------ I am sure this will come up in jest during the team meeting

I'm still trying to figure out how Amla failed to give Philander a chance to get his fifer. Smith or AB I'd understand, but meek considerate Amla?

Dale Steyn: case of sour grapes? Being the worst bowler in the first innings, fakes an injury to save embarrassment in the second.

I'll have to think about that deeply, very deeply.

I was about to post that Steyn's actions are typical of Tennis greats - past&current. Whenever they're being embarassed by a lower ranked player they almost always pull up hurt and retire during the match.

Steyn trying to mask things there.

Same scenario as the first one of Vern... Whilst the ball is shown "on" the bat, there's no sniko... But a fair bit after the bat in the next frame, there is a reduced amplitude shown. This now removes any doubt I had about the first one.

Well bowled Vern on both occasions!

What would it be, let me think. I'm not sure. I'll have to think about that one. Think about it deeply.

Fair enough but I don't think it's a normal occurance throughout human history to give advance written notice of the application of such a natural&spontaneous act of thinking every time. What is normal however is to express the product of that thinking or lack thereof.

I think cricket is the only "professional" sport where complete strangers to the original participants of the contest or rank amateurs are allowed to play. Cheapens and rubbishes the sport. This rule must be outlawed.

I agree with you, up to a point.

I would prefer that some of the contracted players from the home union be on standby for these type of situations.

That is a good idea. They could also say 14 players per match. If you run out of players, then tough titties. And to suppory what you are saying, players 13 and 14 will be supported from the local union.
