Hi There

I need some help (and telling me something like PS2 sucks,Xbox/Wii rules or get a PC does not really help)

I bought a PS2 from Game Cape Gate on the 15/11/06..it's the standard Black unit.
Anyway...after playing for a while (3 hours or so) I had the problem where a caracter/car/fighter would automatically move without me pressing a button...like if a button on the controller was stuck...and when i press some buttons the problem goes away...okay fine...after this happend about 5 times i decided to take the unit back...Game decided to swop out the controller (which is wrong BTW ..according to PS2 SA website a retailer must replace the complete unit if it's under 30 days old)..anyway I was just glad to get it swopped out...played with the brand new controller and all seemed fine until yesterday when it happend again!

I don't want to take the unit to ICSS since the problem only happens after a few hours of gameplay or so and they will just return the unit with the old standard no fault found solution :(

Help...please....I even send PS SA a email...no reply as yet.

If the PS3 is coming out in 4 months time, why did you buy a PS2 15 days ago ? Thats a VERY bad and costly investment considering what life a PS2 has left (roughly a year or two).

keep your cellphone away from the cable!
Serious? I never thought something like a cellphone signal could interfere with the signal coming through the cable from the controller... I suppose you learn something new every day ;)

to lord_spaceman - PS3 will be to costly when released...and I would like them to sort out most of the issues first...there are alot of PS2 games avail and they are really priced well.

to bboy - Cellphone ...are you serious...really are you..

YOU should give them a hard time, you gave them your money, you gave them profit, how about a little customer satisfaction!

If it is only happening after several hours, it may be due to something overheating. Make sure your ps2 box is well ventilated and not stacked on top of, or under other equipment.

nope....its on a flat surface...(not carpet)...and it's as cool as ever...so no temp problems....

Don't think it's the control that's jammed...it's the second one...

Well..I spoke to Game and explained the problem...Good news is they say I must bring the complete setup in...the bad news is they can't say exactly whats gonna happen when I bring it in...

Well don't leave the store until it is fixed. Finish and klaar. Those bastards must either swap it out or fix it on the spot. There are many other retailers who are prepared to sell you a PS2 and with better service.
