PS3 Demo on 15 October?

Hi,

I saw a sign today for the Sony Expo at Sandton City, and it had a picture of the PS3. Can anyone confirm that there will be a PS3 there?

PS3's don't exist they are vapourware...

You may be lucky and get an avi taken from a xbox 360 played through a pc but don't hold your breath for a working PS3

To be more serious I would not be suprised if they demoed the box (just the box not the gameplay). They are planning a Nov release in USA and Japan so they must have some manufactured already.

I heard they recently demoed the gameplay at the Tokyo games fair so you may get lucky. If you do see one playing please report back... I would love to know what R6500 is going to give me that the 360 doesn't do already.

Sony Expo

Well, went to the Expo at Sandton today and well, ya, no PS3, just a glass box with a plastic model of a PS3, and a big screen playing trailers of the games.

Very very very dissapointing. The Expo wasn't too bad, very nice HD displays one or two nice VIAO laptops, but my pick of the show for me was the VIAO UX180P Micro PC. DAMN this thing is small, and for that size screen the resolution is fantastic (1024x600).
I WANT ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (and a PS3 with Heavenly Sword and Lair)

So all the show did was show some stuff that I cant afford (started saving for a PS3 a while back). In other words, it did its job

Well blu ray and HDMI for high definition movies and larger games, a 60gig hard drive, memory stick readers and wi fi.

I don't have any Blu-Ray movies or a HDMI tv...

My 20 gig HDD is more than enough, I can store my music and movies on my PC and stream through the Xbox...

Why would I want to read a Memory Stick?

I am getting the Xbox 360 WiFi add on..

So again Why would I pay R6500 when I get everything I need for R3699?

Xbox 360 does HD, so when I get the HD TV I will just buy the cable required then....

Yeah me niether. but then again i never liked playstation in the first place. I'm a PC fanatic! everything consoles can do a PC can 2. but if one day for some reason i must go for a console, i'd rather take a XBOX360.

Ok i was just pointing out that for what you get it would be around the same price as the xbox equivalent. I read that for xbox the wi fi and hd dvd is $100 and $200 respectively. hd dvd is only for movies (not games) and is without hdmi so if movie studios plan on putting a restriction then your movies will be downscaled. Hardly anyone has hdtv but then again these consoles will be out for years.
