PS3 Pre-orders open in UK

At the current Rand / Dollar exchange rate ( R6.88 ) we would be paying R7017.6!

Better start saving now, or take out another home loan...

Seriously, that is such a ridiculous price, it's not even worth considering.
You could buy two decent PC's with it, or a PC with all the bells and whistles along with a good sized TFT.

I think Sony have overstepped the mark with this big time, even the game-head nutty UK console maniacs will balk at that price, and this is console madness territory, with dedicated shops like "Game" on pretty much every high street.

£550 is like half of the average monthly wage over here - hmmm, then again, this is Debt Central, so I guess those addicted enuff will get it HP.

Well the general rule of the thumb is to multiply the dollar price by 10 and then you'll get the SA price - which is actually R7000 anyway (remeber they're selling the PS3 at $499 and $699 respectively)
