Sony pushing exclusives =
MS buying ZeniMax to (presumably) do the same = "Panic Buying!", "Monopoly incoming!", "I don't play Bethesda games anyways so who cares!"

Gotta love
Sony makes exclusives, MS buys exclusives.

No, the companies Sony bought makes exclusives. The difference is they bought a lot of the core companies (like Naughty Dog) a long time ago.

Naughty Dog, LLC (formerly JAM Software, Inc.[1][2]) is an American first-party video game developer based in Santa Monica, California.[3] Founded by Andy Gavin and Jason Rubin in 1984 as an independent developer,[1] the studio was acquired by Sony Computer Entertainment in 2001.

And additionally they pay other companies for exclusivity.

Wow didnt know Sony "made" all those companies guess they just jumped out of thin air....
Thought I blocked you?

Anyway. When Sony bought those companies. Where any of them making games that were multiplatform and then Sony decided to make exclusive? Or were those companies making games that were well known on other platforms that Sony stopped?

Then why are you replying instead of blocking?

And the answer is yes they bought companies that made games for other consoles and stopped doing so when they went under Sony's wing

Hell, Insomniac Games made a PC and XBox One exclusive in Sunset Overdrive before Sony bought them.

Sony pays a lot for exclusives. For instance two games (I think it was two) from Bethesda were exclusives (maybe timed?) for the PS5 because Sony paid for that right. Then when Microsoft bought Bethesda, Microsoft said they would honour those agreements.

Of course they would honor legal contracts.

My point was on existing franchises. I stand to be corrected. Has Sony bought an existing multiplatform game and then released a sequel as an exclusive(not this timed nonsense).

The two games are Deathloop and GhostWire: Tokyo (not developed by Bethesda though). And it is rumoured that Sony was also busy negotiating timed exclusivity for Starfield (new Bethesda IP) when MS announced the sale

Oh they can sell their own games, hell they can even price it double for competitors systems if they want. Don't have to give it away. <-- Whatever they do here is fine

My problem is when there "exclusive" deals remove content from other developers games ie: Spiderman on Marvel Avengers or when they strike a deal with company x to block company y from getting a game release cause reasons. Or when You can get it but only a year after I got it.... (Fake Walls)

Also not this is not Sony only, Microsoft use to do this a lot as well, Epic loooves doing it lately.

Well, then your problem isn't with exclusives, but exclusive content. Which I agree with, that practice is bullshit. But calling out companies releasing exclusive games for their console doesn't really hold up when you consider their competitor isn't funding the development of that game. And if Sony is paying for the development of something, it makes sense that they would want it only playable on their console. Microsoft never funded Uncharted, Sony never funded Gears of War, and neither funded BOTW. It makes sense that you would want your software that you funded on your console only. Nothing inherently wrong with that.

Can be whatever it is in your view but I will not "judge" someone that pirates Marvel’s Avengers for PS cause he cant get Spiderman in his PC version. Or if Someone Downloads a Movie/TV show that is not in SA. And no its not the same Piracy is not theft. HUUUUUUUGE difference ps: Thats why its called piracy

Even our law agrees piracy is a civil matter and theft is a criminal matter.

Lego doesn't force me to only build what is on the box ;)

And just because one console has exclusive content over another does not excuse piracy. You are using the IP of something that hundreds of people have poured years of their lives into without the licence to do so. Nothing can justify that. Pathetic.

Fail at reading I see?

Not once did I say I pirate? :D

There is enough games for me to simply ignore and move on, Hell I can even get to all the content I have in my library.

I did not justify it either, I said I wont judge them ;) IE move on and ignore

No, not IE move on and ignore. By saying you won't judge them, you agree that to some degree it's justified. Do you believe piracy is justified, yes or no?

Like I said I don't pirate games.

Is it morally right or wrong is a whole other debate that has nothing to do with this thread and it has a lot more factors at play, is it ok for a company to copy something example Sony/Disney and block others from doing the same, is it ok for Hollywood that exists purely cause of avoiding IP rights and block others to do the same... I don't know. If you really want to go down that rabbit hole start a thread on the subject, maybe I'll join, maybe not... depends on how busy I am today.

At the end I stand by my statement, I wont judge them.
