Don't bring logic into this discussion. "$consoleOfChoice will support 120hz!" (Yet everyone fails to realize that most TV's are 60Hz and the consoles will have to try and run 1080p to get more than 60fps) . Throw buzz words and terms like "Ray Tracing" into the marketing material and everyone who heard about it once before wants to get it to be cool in front of their friends. We have been having RTX on PC for years, still have not had the need to get RTX capable cards. Don't worry however, Consoles have exclusives!!!

A while ago some people still thought that the new consoles would actually be able to play games at 8K60

Console exclusives are real though. I would still recommend anyone who haven't played the original Red Dead Redemption yet, get a PS3 or XBox 360 and play it. Or the brilliant God of War 3. Or the original TLOU.

Speaking of GoW3, I played it on my PS3, and got the remaster on my PS4. I can't remember why I even looked at it, but I just wanted to check out something in the game. I just had to finish it that week. I couldn't put it down. And I don't ever play games more than once.

I also think we will be surprised what they achieve with crappy console RT in a few years time.

RDR is on the xbox store :) so no need for those old ballie machines ;)
Playing it now I'm impressed how that game was able to run on 360. Seeing all the detail and the horses muscles moving. Witcher 2 comes to mind as well. The devs squeezed ever last drop out of that 360. But made it work. Gotta love CDPR

I think it might be optimised for the current gen systems ( Xbox1 ) if I recall, I could be wrong.

The whole heat issue is cause some nana grabbed a SSD and over reacted...

I also don't blame him either, my USB 3.1 SSD tends to get toasty as well, if caught off-guard I would also react like that.

I do blame the news media trying to make a mountain out of a mole-heap.

Strange. Most articles mention the PS4 pro being cooler than the 1x.

Could be wrong. Been ages since I checked

Cooler to the touch this is probably because the side panels have some seperation from the console itself

Bottom right of picture there is Xbox news logo. So I would take any info with a grain of salt.

But I still don't understand the issue. Any pc owner would be happy with max 65 deg temps. And I have not read of any mass failures on PS4's due to temps, so what is the point of all these temp talks?

Reminds me if the old joke back in 2010...

Controller.jpg

How "If it aint broke dont fix it" tables have turned since then... oh I prefer the PS3/4 layout more than Xbox. I donno why, if its my OCD or something else but the Microsoft ones just urks me... I use it and can play on it, it just rubs me the wrong way when its on the table.

Because a guy touched the SSD of the XBX and said "it's a little toasty". PS trolls did all the rest, citing mass overheating problems etc. as trolls do.

Some of them even shared the news here - trying to stir the pot, but obviously crawled back into their troll caves once it was debunked
