I look forward to my brand new Supra arriving, thank you very much.

People who are going with the PS5 are either very brand loyal or they prefer the PS exclusives over the XBox exclusives. The XBox is the most powerful console, a much cheaper way to game and with all the purchases MS made, the best console to have if you want to play western RPG's. Bethesda, Obsidian, Inxile etc.

Out of interest's sake. Why did you go with the PS5 and not the XBox Series X? I just see so much more value in the Series X at this point in time. This is a question for all the PS5 people.

This:
Because YOLOexclusivezrockslurvpaystationz !

Seriously, even with MS' Bethesda + friends acquisition, you can't compare the exclusives. Polished titles like GoW, Uncharted and TLOU, and probably H:ZD vs the jank-fests that Bethesda have churned out over the years?

Of course Doom is another story, but I wouldn't ever play something like that with a controller.

Demons Souls!

The only real loss when going PS5-only are the Obsidian and inXile games.

Oh, that and the fact that I have become a proper PC gamer since I got married and have to play my console games in my study. Why use a console when your PC is only 2m away? (Hint: Consoles are only there for the games not available on PC)

LOL I just love the way people are throwing around the "Xbox is the most powerful" before any comparisons have been made.
What will win around a track. A Dodge Viper with 8L engine or a average Ferrari with a 4.5L engine?

But I do love how say it's the most powerful console (the one with a 1080 UI), but MS themselves say they expect to sell more of the XSS, with only 4TF. And the proof of the pudding is still to be eaten to see how well games run on the respective consoles (Ps5 vs XSX).

Of course it's more powerful. It has been shown now multiple times.

I thought that the Playstation was the better machine for a long time - from PS2 to PS4

Everyone slammed the Xbox having to have to be online for the initial start up & setup of the console, there were all those people and critics that said the Xbox was a only online console when Sony wasn't ( They were ruthless ) Plus they laughed at the lack of games initially when the Xbox1 was released ... All these years later, those drawbacks are irrelevant and mean nothing.

Then I bought the xbox1 booted it up and sold my PS4 :) the rest is history and one thing I will say is never believe what others say unless you have given it a proper go :)

It wasn't as bad as people made it out to be ... Xbox is my BOOOI now - and the only reason I will go back to Sony is if I won a PS5 or got one for a gift, even so I'd sell it hahahahaha :)

Sony fanboys live in the past when the PS4 was the superior brand, but now things are a whole lot different imo... So all I can say to these hardcoretrollnoob fanboys is this...

Go and enjoy your exclusives, us MS boys will do exactly the same and enjoy our exclusives as well so you can stop playing that old song mkay.

kbyebyenow ;)

My 1st ever console was an Xbox. Was mostly used as a DVD player with the DVD kit add-on but I do have fond memories of playing some games on it. (Halo anyone?)
Upgraded to 360 soon after it was released (Bloody 20 gig HD expansion slot was awesome)
Bought a PS3 later because of fking exclusive <--- Sadly I cant even recall the game I bought it for.
Got the red ring on the 360 and got a new one with a 120 that was on a Special

After that I bought a Wii cause my GF at the time was all like "ooh we can exercise while playing games".... that only lasted about 2 months at the most, ended up being a Rockband machine and don't get me wrong it was a hit at braai's, camping and other meets.

The PS3 died at one stage and I bought the slim or maybe subconsciously I broke it to get a Slim... who knows. The PS4 was out at the time so I got the PS3 really really cheap. During this PS4/Xbox1 round all my time was sucked up with Guild Wars 2 so I decided to go F this generation, who needs a new console.

When I moved back to SA I left the 360 behind cause extra weight. Had the PS3 for another year and then gave it to a friends son when his broke, I didn't use it anyway.

I since got a proper Media PC and started retro gaming on it using emulators... Problem is the Mrs is taking up the Media PC so I can't Retro game now even if I wanted to :(

Soooo Xbox Series S is here... it is cheap, I can move it between Bedroom and Main TV(Both 1080p) when Mrs is not hogging the main, I can game on it and is backwards compatible... color me SOLD

If I ever get sooped up into console gaming again I might even buy a PS5... but I doubt it will happen in the next 2 years or before the next redesign... so.

For me it's the other way around. I used to be a PC gamer. Still game on PC and still have a top of the range PC. Even have an Oculus Rift, ultrawide screen, everything that's needed. But man, console gaming is just so much more relaxing.

All your questions have been answered many times in this thread before, and you are stretching the truth a bit.

But I do love how say it's the most powerful console (the one with a 1080 UI), but MS themselves say they expect to sell more of the XSS, with only 4TF. And the proof of the pudding is still to be eaten to see how well games run on the respective consoles (Ps5 vs XSX).

But, to summarise:

- much better looking console
- more advanced controller
- more advanced audio tech
- far superior exclusives
- customisable panels in future
- no need to waste money on "hundreds" of games I will never play
- and, yet to be determined, my belief that it will be the better gaming console and gaming experience

One last thing - the Bethesda purchase - all those games are still available to PS5. It's only years from now that MS will be able to block future releases from PS. Note that this is not creating exclusives for MS; merely buying them. The sort of exclusive content you MS chaps always claimed to hate :)

Keep summarizing please...

Your console looks awful bud, it's the worst looking Playstation I have ever seen, it completely strays away from ALL other Playstations before it.

I will be thinking of your remarks on Bethesda when I play the next Skyrim and Doom installment in their respective franchise on my next gen Xbox !

The sort of exclusive content you MS chaps always claimed to hate

What content ? where ? when ? you thumb sucking again ?

For me personally, GP wouldn't save me any money. I tend to wait until games are patched up to a good state, and by then I can buy them for R400. I also only seriously play about 5 games a year, and most of them are not on GP.

As part of the marriage negotiations, I got to turn the guest bedroom into a gaming room / study. In turn, I don't get to play games on the livingroom TV when she wants to watch TV.
At least I have a couch in my gaming room which I lounge when playing controller games.

Well, the "most powerful console" didn't do much for MS during the last generation but to answer Solitude's question . . .

Had a Playstation since way back in '98/99 and stuck with it since the, so I guess band loyalty plays a big part in my decision.

As for "not touching anything else", I've had an XBox 360 at some point but couldn't get into it. That huge fscking power brick you had to lug around when moving your console, batteries  and DVD disc swopping, jeez! The controller wasn't too bad but could never get used to the layout.

I find the whole XBox brand, bland, boring and unappealing with the name "XBox" sounding like a cheap Chinese knock-off.

Exclusives, sure! Some of the best games came out this last decade thanks to Sony.

Fair enough. For people who don't game much, Game Pass isn't really worth it. Actually for people who don't game much the PS5 is a good option. Buy a couple of the exclusives a year and that's it.

And Game Pass.

Not according to the rat sensei. To him Gamepass is just 100's of games you need to pay for but don't play.
Geezus. Only bloody person ever to make such a dumbass claim...

But hey, he will happily pay $70 for some mainstream exclusive game to keep up with the Joneses. Nevermind if it's a shining turd...he will play it till he drops to validate his $70 investment..

You know what...some nitwits actually doesn't deserve Gamepass...

I have also posted at least two sources saying that TFLOPS doesn't mean much, and is a stupid way to measure GPU performance, one of them being an ex Frostbyte engine developer.
TFLOPS only measure shader performance, which is only part of what a GPU does.

Also: https://www.extremetech.com/gaming/...aring-playstation-5-xbox-series-x-performance

The XBox series X is probably the more powerful console.

I think all or most of us had a PS1 and PS2. Some of the best games i played was on PS. Medievil comes to mind. R&C, Crash Bandicoot, Abes Odyssey, God of War, Dino Crisis. Killzone.

In 2008 i got my 1st Xbox 360. It was all new to me. The controllers. This big white tower with a cool green light in the middle. I remember it felt well built and solid. The triggers felt amazing. And i first played games like Fable, Halo, Gears of war and the graphics was awesome (at the time). And loved them. Soon all my friends got 360 as well. I skipped PS3

   PlayStation. :laugh::laugh::laugh:
Back when it came out 1st time we all laughed at the dumb sounding Chinese name. Let's face it, both names aren't exactly classy. But hey if names are a big thing for you then fine. LOL.

Huh - what's with this "ps5-like variable clocks"? I thought the XSX had a fixed clock speed? ANyway, as has been said many times before, lets see how those horses are used in gaming.

I mean, X box can't even use all that power for a 4K UI?:whistling:

Not if 3 years worth of Gamepass = R1900

Have you looked at PS5 game Prices? Its like Hoooooly "Brown stuff that ain't chocolate"

Biggest problem with picking a console in my view is the FOMO effect. (Fear of missing out)
I got over FOMO a looooong time ago, the best part about that is I get to buy GOTY editions real cheap and If I cant play it then I'll simply move on plenty of other games out there... Its not such a limited market as it was back in 1999
