Not according to the rat sensei. To him Gamepass is just 100's of games you need to pay for but don't play.
Geezus. Only bloody person ever to make such a dumbass claim...

But hey, he will happily pay $70 for some mainstream exclusive game to keep up with the Joneses. Nevermind if it's a shining turd...he will play it till he drops to validate his $70 investment..

You know what...some nitwits actually doesn't deserve Gamepass...

Shame, Sister Sensitive is losing it again and getting all salty. All the personal insults as she sobs into her tampon

I think all or most of us had a PS1 and PS2. Some of the best games i played was on PS. Medievil comes to mind. R&C, Crash Bandicoot, Abes Odyssey, God of War, Dino Crisis. Killzone.

In 2008 i got my 1st Xbox 360. It was all new to me. The controllers. This big white tower with a cool green light in the middle. I remember it felt well built and solid. The triggers felt amazing. And i first played games like Fable, Halo, Gears of war and the graphics was awesome (at the time). And loved them. Soon all my friends got 360 as well. I skipped PS3

I am a late entrant to console gaming. We had a NES knockoff when I was a kid. I was also (and probably still am) a proud member of the PC Master Race, and looked down on the filthy console peasants. My brother convinced me that the PS3 has some great games, and with PMS running on my PC, it makes a good media player, so at 30 I bought my first console since the NES.

My brother would also lend me his games, and I think during my 5 year PS3 ownership I only bought one game: Dark Souls collectors edition. I remember the guy at BT games telling me what a **** game it was, and how much I would hate that POS. Pppfft, what a filthy casual. I loved it.

To each their own... I prefer my console not to look like a cheap Chinese router knock off just 100x times bigger. Meh.
I like and might even prefer the stealthy minimalist design of the X/S. It blends in and does it's job. The Ps5 was made to stand out next to your tv. Might even be a little distracting at first. It won't even look out of place in a Dubai penthouse.

Used Atari from friends then got my very own Commodore 64 (Piracy back then was using Dad's expensive Hifi and High speed dub'ing before he got home)

Wanted an Atari but hey beggars.... <-- Wonder if that is the reason why I went all PC master race as I wanted a console and got a BLOAD "Syntax Error" machine instead :D

Edit: Hot momma, cancel my Series S pre-Order
NOT

Dark Souls....Now we're talking. I love doing my speed runs on them. One of the most rewarding games i ever played.

I first started gaming on my dads PC early 2000s. Then got a PS1,PS2,360,XO and played exclusives on PS4.

All your questions have been answered many times in this thread before, and you are stretching the truth a bit.

But I do love how say it's the most powerful console (the one with a 1080 UI), but MS themselves say they expect to sell more of the XSS, with only 4TF. And the proof of the pudding is still to be eaten to see how well games run on the respective consoles (Ps5 vs XSX).

But, to summarise:

- much better looking console
- more advanced controller
- more advanced audio tech
- far superior exclusives
- customisable panels in future
- no need to waste money on "hundreds" of games I will never play
- and, yet to be determined, my belief that it will be the better gaming console and gaming experience

One last thing - the Bethesda purchase - all those games are still available to PS5. It's only years from now that MS will be able to block future releases from PS. Note that this is not creating exclusives for MS; merely buying them. The sort of exclusive content you MS chaps always claimed to hate :)
As a consumer the only thing I'm concerned with is I get all the Bethesda titles included in the Game Pass subscription. If PS gamers have the ability to purchase Bethesda titles then good for them.

i just started witcher 3 goty, ~200 of the local currency and it's a free upgrade for the ps5 edition, much fun too. also picked up doom eternal for cheap cheap, also much fun

i could never get used to the batteries (tf!?) and the odd shape of the xbox controller, it just feels... odd. i honestly couldn't care about comparing consoles. it's a moot point as it boils down to personal preference. if it's a hard requirement that you absolutely must have a 4k ui, then it's a personal preference (i dont care either) . if you have to have access to multitude games for an n period of time then gamepass is a personal preference, admittedly it's cool, but justifying what ~800 local currencies? p/m for that right, not for me.

i'd rather buy a r1.2k title and sit on it until it's done. hell witcher 3 will take me months to finish and it's an old title.

the minor advantages one console has over the other is lost again in some other minor way and so it goes ad infinitum

I have also posted at least two sources saying that TFLOPS doesn't mean much, and is a stupid way to measure GPU performance, one of them being an ex Frostbyte engine developer.
TFLOPS only measure shader performance, which is only part of what a GPU does.

Also: https://www.extremetech.com/gaming/...aring-playstation-5-xbox-series-x-performance

The XBox series X is probably the more powerful console.

Well like your article says:
" On paper, the Xbox Series X GPU should be significantly more powerful than the PlayStation 5 "

So yes, on paper it's significantly more powerful. From what we know so far, the XBox Series X is the most powerful console. The article states that there "may be room for the PlayStation 5 to be closer on the Xbox’s heels than anticipated." but that still means it's behind the XBox. Heels are at the back.

I also started out as a pc gamer. Played many a classic and will forever be a 1st person shooter fan first and foremost.
Games that will always be dear to me are Doom, Descent, Alone in the Dark, adventure games such as Monkey Island and Leisure Suit Larry, Quake, Unreal (and Tournament versions), Duke Nukem 3D, Diablo, Half Life etc etc etc etc.

Until 2006 when I met my wife. All of a sudden the money just dried up. Having kids made things worse. LOL.
Always upgraded my pc's myself. Had several chipsets and graphic cards from 1995 to 2006. 3DFX, ATI, Nvidia etc.
Currently my poor old gaming pc is stuck in time...almost like Han Solo frozen in carbonite... stuck in 2005 where it was a mid range gaming pc. Now totally outdated and a relic of the good old pc days.

The last games I played on this old pc (at low/medium quality settings and res) was Alan Wake, Crysis and Skyrim. I still have my copy of classic old Doom 3 on there as well as FarCry.

When the kids started showing interest in games I got them USB controllers for my PC and some of the Lego games (Lego Star Wars, Lego Indiana Jones etc) but this only spurred on their interest for more games and to play stuff like Minecraft and Disney Infinity. I pulled the trigger when an Xbox 360 was on special. Needless to say I also got back into gaming again. And this time the ole pirate bought all of his games. Back in my pc gaming heyday the majority of them came from the high seas.... ARRRR! The Xbox shop was just so easy and digital games was a steal when on discount on XB Live Gold. I currently own a ton of XB games many which I doubt I will ever get to!

Then two years ago Father Xmas organized an Xbox One S for the kiddos. And good ole Father Xmas also manages to get his gaming time on the console up to today. ;)

If they were interested in them before, they would have them by now.

There's so many aspects to consider. On paper it does seem more capable. More compute units. Faster clocked RAM. Higher clocked CPU. Then there's the whole debate over which is RDNA2 and which isn't. PS5 wins hands down in SSD bandwidth. Because the PS5 doesn't run a static frequency like the SX it's hard to compare them without analysis. I say we wait for Richard from DF to drop the BASS...

Then we can all have a big dogpile with Splinter at the bottom.

You gonna eat your words, padawan. And look on with envy as we replace our panels with glorious custom-made art that will make you weep at the bland rectangle sitting in your room :)

PS - did you see that spider man mock-up for the side panels?
