It's possible. We will have to wait and see. PC games are created so that you can choose your settings all the way from low to high depending on your system. It should surely just be a similar case for the consoles.

Jason Ronald said himself that games will be developed on Series X first. Then ONLY the native resolution will be scaled down for the S version.

I can't comment on which will have better looking exclusives. We'll have to wait and see. The new God of war will look very good on PS5 I'm sure. But it's anyone's guess as to what MS will bring out.

I look forward to seeing the performance difference in games that are on both systems. Like AC Valhalla and Cyberpunk.

I think I should qualify though. I don't regard imperceptibly higher resolution as looking better, and I do think that in the games where XBox will have an edge, it will mainly be holding on to a higher resolution longer.

I agree on looking forward to DF comparisons. Especially Cyberpunk with raytracing.

When I originally applied in 2018, the expected wait was 2 months, max. The very next month they reduced immigration numbers drastically. If I got the required points for my first English test, or wrote my second one a week earlier, I would now have been in Aus...

Friends of my wife emigrated to England in September this year on an ancestral visa, so they are kinda opened up?

NZ has deferred the decision to start processing skilled migrant visas (the one I need opened to start job hunting) for another 6 months. So we will find out when it opens in April.

These same developers also do games for PC where the minimum spec machine is usually well below the current gen console. The games will scale. Duh.

It's like pointing to pcs and say that their games look crapper than PS games because they need to scale. Newflash: They don't! They look better than PS games. Scalability does not hold the top spec back.

PC's are not consoles. And before you bang on about how similar the architecture is now, they are still different beasts. The console is designed to be efficient, whilst PC's are inherently extremely inefficient. It's this that may actually allow the scalabilty.

And you comparing (no doubt) high end gaming systems to PS4 is puerile. And we are comparing PS5 to XSX, not PC's, you budding genius

And before you "duh" me, Sister Sensitive, why don't you go look at that dismal footage of Halo Infinite again, and tell me how well the game scales.....

Yeah we got all the info, it's just the waiting game now. We also started looking into it end of last year and then started the whole process, job searching, Linkedin, all the paper work n stuff but then covid hit !

Spoke to my immigration officer yesterday and they said NZ are only excepting " essential people " like doctors, nurses and so on. And then there quarantine costs and tests as well .... the list went on and on ...

So Xbox architecture is a figment of ones imagination ?!

Different architecture for different versions of the game, it works like a texture pack. MS will implementing this when games for the current gen ( CP2077 ) will be able to be updated to the newer models and texture mapping !!

I watched a video once of one of the big YouTube reviewers, where he explained why Apple is better the Android. He explained that all app developers only have to optimize the app for just a few Apple phone where as its almost impossible to do it for the hundreds of different Android phones. So all apps just run better on Apple.

Seeing that PS is always more popular than Xbox I wonder is the same scenario don't exist for developers, that they just optimize better for PS and care less for Xbox and PC, and then games just work better on PS

One good thing about Aus if you feel home sick all you have to do is head into the CBD of your nearest city put on a pair of goggles rub some shyte on the lenses and you'll feel like you are instantly teleported back into South Africa.

Games work better on PS?

I seriously start to question some of the IQ on this forum. Just on this thread I see people giving one example and then claims that its the norm.
Let me give an example. I read an comparison the other day of the Gtx 1060 6gb card vs the RX 580. Now they compare it with +30 games. The Nvidia was fastest in a few games but the Rx 580 was 20-30% faster on average.
