I was all for playstation, but with game pass getting so much better lately with the addition of ea access and rumours of them adding ubisoft games soon, I'm finding it extremely hard to side with playstation
Game pass is really handy for people who play often but its value is lost a bit on people like me who only have a few hours a week of play time. I normally only have one game that I'm playing at any given time and it can take quite a few weekends to even finish these (single player games).

I do have some time before my budget aligns with the next gen console prices. Haven't completely made up my mind yet

new average R1200 for a new AAA game
R60 p/m for GamePass if you upgrade gold to ultimate. (I got 3 years sub for a total of R1950)

Equates to downloading and playing a single game for 20 months to get money back. Downloading and playing anything above that means you scoring.

Yes playing Tetris on game pass gives you the same value as Spiderman on Ps5

If BS turned into gold, you would have the entire worlds population of leprechauns chasing after you.

Anyway, I'm glad to see the false veneer of you being "neutral" is finally being stripped away. By your own admission, nogal.
I am neutral as far as my brand loyalties go, I have no loyalty to any brand. My only loyalty is to my wallet.

Maybe that will happen when the EA Play deal expires but competition wise long term I don't like the idea of this if EA or Ubisoft cosy up a little too close to MS they could meet the same faith as Nokia.

Here's a news flash for you fanboys, this thread doesn't revolve around you guys. Frankly apart from when I directly reply to you I don't really care about your opinions.
LOL the irony
The only way you can reply to our opinions, is to read them, so you do care?

This is something that I am wondering about....
Is EA Play going to be permanent like 1st party games or are they gonna follow the normal 12 month advert only GP game lifetime?
EA play Sub on its own is ($5). Half the price of GP ($10) and one third of GPU ($15)

Some transparency would have been cool. I would like to know if EA gets say $2-3 per GP Ultimate sub (Then I can see it staying on permanently), if its a "Get your hooked" only advert (Then not so much). I don't see myself getting EA Play separate if they remove it after 12 months, but know of some sports fans that would prefer EA play above any GamePass Sub.

In either case I already got to play some EA Games I would have ignored otherwise, example finished Jedi Fallen Order for free.

Edit: Oh and Ubisoft+ is in bed with Google Stadia last time I checked?

I don't even think EA are thinking that far out, I think MS offered EA a metric farm ton of money to include EA Play on Game Pass and they took it because their main sources of revenue are under threat from government regulations.

There are some news websites reporting that Ubisoft and MS have a similar deal to the EA MS deal but those are just rumours.

Worryingly with Amazon and Google entering the market and likely Apple following their lead. The 4 tech giants will look to buy up as many publishers and studios as possible.

/snip

Which is what I have said, many times before. However, as I think all of us have said here, for the budget conscious, the Xbox series is the best choice. Which would make you a supporter from the beginning, not so.

For those wanting the better gaming experience, it's PS all the way.

How many times do I have to correct you for your spin?

With PS5 and PSN Plus, you get the PSN collection. 18 odd games. Most of them very decent. Then you get your free monthly games. So far it has been one new PS5 game and two PS4 games pm.

I have put so many into my library it's getting ridiculous. No ways will I be able to play half of them, I reckon.

Then, as for your AAA games, exactly how many of the new ones come with Gamepass? Not that many. So for the rest, you still need to pay.

And then, even if Gamepass was half the cost, you still wouldn't be getting Bloodborne, GoW, HZD (console), Last of Us 1 and 2, Uncharted series, Ghost of Tsushima etc. And that's ignoring the fact that there are more exclusives coming to PS5 soon.

You know, I think you also mentioned you played Ghost of Tsushima somewhere else as well. It's looking more and more that you prefer the PS games - just not willing to splash the cash to do so. Which is cool. But denying you prefer the PS is something you need to own up to :)

You seem to be the one with a PS only problem?

Not once did I say I will never buy a PlayStation in fact I even mentioned it in this very thread that 3 years from now I will re-look at options. Right now where I am at, in this point in time is Xbox + GamePass makes best option for me. Nothing more, nothing less.

Funny enough, if I also bought a PS5 I would have placed a limit on my family to only play Sony's games <--- kinda counter productive if you ask me.
Not everyone is so limited in mind and choice that they can and have to pick a single side.

Sidenote: My brother is using my Series S to check out GamePass this weekend.

PSN Plus = Xbox Gold Live (Not the same games but same type of service) Xbox Gold live is included in Gamepass Ultimate.
PS Now would be closer match to GamePass, if it was in SA. At least you can access some of PS Now services via VPN.

Oh and I am subscribed to GamePass Ultimate and PSN Plus.

For crying in a bucket! I know you have said this. Over and over, in fact. It does nothing to dispute anything I said.

But, why call me "limited in mind"?

I am going to call you limited in budget; hence all your salty shyte.

Still doesn't answer any point I made. Go save up for a PS5. It's what you really want.
