No, this started because you are pointlessly posting irrelevant trash in order to push an agenda against consoles.

Believe it or not, some of us here do own PC gaming rigs as well, however, this thread is about the next gen consoles and you are quite clearly lost.
The tech inside your console was designed by the same guys who designed some of the latest PC hardware, so knowledge about one sheds light on the other. They share the same DNA. Almost literally, it's called RDNA! I'm sure you can see the relevance now.

I get how you feel, though. Imagine finding out that your strawberry milkshake and hamburger come from the same animal!

yikes standard pervert behaviour from fat sweaty nerds

Seems like you very focused on nerds perverted and sweaty behavior...

Denial is strong in this one, but the truth shines through. Much like with poly :)

Edit: anyone else notice his avatar now in the context of this conversation?

So I can call myself Console Master Race then.

Thanks for clearing that up @Elon. You never disappoint.

Okay I see that you mean now. Well I really really want to buy a console but I also need to upgrade my laptop this year. I'm having a personal "wants vs needs" dilemma because I work on my most of the time and don't really do much gaming on it, I go as far as installing a game and play it once or twice a day after installing it but then never actually end playing it again but the thing is having a more powerful PC will also benefit me work wise.

I think the one good thing about this thread is that it keeps the bickering out of the PS5/SeriesXS threads. Although I see Splinter occasionally jumps the fence.

In all honesty though, I got a 3070 and still, nothing makes my jaw drop the way TLoU 2's visuals did. Control's ray tracing came close!

Oh no. You are about to start an argument about PC vs console again. A console is better in every way imaginable, minus cost of course. Lets look at cost of owning a console.

TV: about R30K for a "decent" TV that has 4K@120 support?
Console: R12K
Extra controllers: R1500+?
Games: R1500 a shot and you know you need the newest, so about R 6000 for 4 new AAA titles

Where is a console great value for money again? What I'm seeing is a massive amount of money to pretend PC gaming is expensive when in fact PC gaming comes in cheaper

Since I bought my Series X, I've only played Game Pass games.

My PC costs a lot more than the my console.

The Ultrawide was more than my TV. The 2080 more than the console. The keyboard and mouse, more than the extra controller. Um I use the controller on the PC too, mind you.

Plus on console you can trade games.

Even then, this is not the thread for it.

As a PC gamer i can point that your example is the top end, Price is not really a tool to be used as a measuring stick.

Lower end looks more like:
Xbos Series S = R7000
Aim 4K TV = R5000 (Or even cheap Hisense)
Games = Gamepass at R150 p/m (Or R65 if you use the deal)

Same with PC's you can go top end for a i9 with RTX 3080 in a proper RGB case and you will easily dwarf any console price

You can't factor in the cost of the TV.

You buy fuel because you have a car. You don't buy a car because you have fuel.

When you buy a TV, you start adding on peripherals to it like your media box, home theatre system, and maybe a console if that's how you prefer to play your games.

As for games the only one I bought so far was Cyberpunk for R999 and Borderlands 3 for R399. The rest I got off GP. The Medium will also be launching straight onto GP in a couple of weeks. Not sure which orifice you're pulling those prices from...
