PS5 Pro price vs a gaming PC with similar performance

Pointless just to compare hardware specs. If you are going to get a PS5/have a PS5 it's most likely due to certain games available for that platform. How many of those games for the PS5 are also available for the PC? How does the FPS compare?

Exactly, I'm already invested in the PS ecosystem with quite a substantial number of games in my library, upgrading to PS5 Pro would make more sense, for me at least.

Most of the big ps5 exclusives do eventually come to the PC now.

The initial price shock was also felt in the US, with a $200 price hike over the current $499 price, nearly identical in percentage terms.

Yeah yeah, people are shocked yet its the best selling console on Amazon.

Gotta put that Zen2 on 2400 memory for that proper console experience.

Distributors decided to tack an additional R1500 to the price of the PS5 because "Fsck you give me money"

AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT 12GB
That is misleading. It lacks the equivalent hardware that supports DLSS or PSSR. One of the points of the Pro is better upscaling because of hardware based PSSR.

People who buy the 7700 will be disappointed when they are stuck with FSR and the image quality that comes with that - something the Pro is moving away from.

Oh thank goodness for PS5 exclusives...

The exclusive list with each generation of consoles is decreasing. I think the market for consoles isn't driven by exclusivity anymore. It is just convenience nowadays.

Grandma can buy her grandkids a PS5 and a game for Christmas from Incredible connection, and the thing will work without any issues. That is the target market.

Nintendo are the only ones still in the exclusivity game.

Built my i9 14900 for a few thousand Rand more. If you use a console for the family it is of course a great solution, but as a single user I would personally go with a PC every single time, just based on usability for various tasks alone.

I mean if they're willing to pay R17k for it, what's stopping them from forking out an extra R1.5k 😁.
More money for us.

I'm sure that's the thought process
