These surveys also "found" that over 80% of the public are very satisfied with Telkom's offerings, so don't put much faith in it at all.

But then again 80% of the population does find Telkoms offering satisfying.

So the survey is correct, it's just a pity 80% of the people don't know what Telkom could really offer if they wanted to.

Nobody I know was polled. Was anyone here polled?

The survey which was conducted among 250 people was established to track public perceptions on the progress of SA's preparations for the event.

So based on a sample of 250 people we can conclude that SA is ready or will be for WC2010? Where were these 250 people polled? At an ANC convention? At a taxi/bus rank? In a mall or supermarket?

The kind of results obtained by these farsical surveys should never make it to print/screen.

With a survey you can proof anything, by just choosing where you want to hold the survey. A survey like this does not mean anything. 250 people? That is not even a significant part of the population.

It is a survey on public perceptions not on the actual state of readiness.

Perceptions are just that - perceptions. This survey is nothing more than spin doctoring and politics.

As a South African ,I am glad we got the 2010 world cup, as a South African, i think it should be supported in everyway possible, and i am sick and tired of other countries slating this country (not to mention forumites) with regards said world cup, we have an obligation and a fantastic opportunity to give the rest of the bloody world a large fat finger, so lets do just that.
The problem is that there are too many with no national pride left.

Just to show that the majority opinion on this forum is not reflective of the country as a whole...

Wouldn't you say that people on this forum are generally more informed than the country as a whole though?

Just because people are critical doesn't mean they don't support the country and its effort etc. but blind faith and obedience won't help anyone.

True true. On the first point I'd say most forumites have most of the population beaten hands down on this one. As far as the second point is concerned, the majority of the population is fed a steady diet of SABC propaganda.
