Howzit guys

I don't have medical aid yet and I am rather new to this side of the country (Johannesburg South) so I don't know anyone one here.

Should I not be feeling well what options do I have? where does one go and how does it work?

The first stop would be the local clinic, and from there they would refer you if needed. Can't help you with locations, but I am sure a call to Dept of Health could yeald some results. If it's an emergency then a local hospital and queue at the casualty

Edit: Else R350-550 will get you a private doc visit who will be able to do a referal to a gov facility if needed
