Thus the electorate (that is the people who give power to the politicians) is only about 31.% of the public.

The EFF received 1,881,521 votes.
Which makes them representative of 3.3% of the actual public in South Africa.

Using this calculation, the DA and ANC represent 6.3% and 17.6% of the public respectively.


And then people are shocked when people like me claim that the state should not grant politicians colossal amounts of power over people's lives.

As her mother, she would be expected to be saddened and worried... but her mother should also understand the only person responsible for the situation she is in, is herself. Nobody did anything to her, she did it all to herself.
