SACS has distanced itself from the late-night Observatory party last weekend, where some of their pupils are alleged to have been locked in a brutal brawl with boys from Westerford High School.

A SACS employee said the school did not help organise matric ball after-parties, and did not sanction the Friday night party. "This was definitely a private function."

Last weekend Weekend Argus reported that a group of SACS boys allegedly fought with a group of Westerford matriculants. The incident left one of the Westerford pupils with a broken nose and another with a fractured cheekbone.

Staffers at spots in Observatory said the pupils were "not behaving themselves".

SACS said they were aware of the fight and were looking into it but did not want to divulge details of their investigation.

The parent of one of the Westerford boys, who asked not to be named, said they had notified the school, which was "taking the matter very seriously".

The parent added that the incident and injuries had not dampened the boys' holiday, and that they were all in Plettenberg Bay for the matric party "Plett Rage".

Call me an old fart but there is no way my kids would get to go to the Plett Rage unless I was there.

School liberation, raging testosterone and steroids, piles of cash, daddy's car

PS: Very naughty journalist - it's learners not pupils.
To be correct, as they have finished their exams they aren't even learners - just unemployed teenagers.
