Hi I am not a Hugh fan of longterm use of the cheap modified sine wave inverters, my experience has shown me the slowly destroy the computer PSU, fridges and can stuff up printer printouts.

I am looking for a 1000w pure sine with ups switchover, I don't mind how ugly iy looks just that the power is stable. Everyone just whants to sell modified sine, and that gets to me, when running an office dung 2x load shedding blackouts a day.

Any recommend places.

I have had one of these in the lounge for the last year or so and they work fine.

The fan works a bit too much, but otherwise ok.

It included the battery and was R7280 when I bought it in Jan.

What is the budget?

Modified sine wave wont damage PC's because the PSU converts AC to DC, fridges and things like motors will not work properly with a modified sine wave.

I'm also curious how cheap you actually went with your simulated sine wave PSUs, I've only rolled Mecer branded ones of various sizes for my electronics and computers for over a decade and it gave no issues, saved them from deadly lightning strikes + power surges as well as lasted me an average of 4 years for the heavier ones (could've been longer if I didn't use them for half an hour at a time earlier before shutoffs, but meh). They should definitely only affect motorized and sensitive equipment only, not your computers.

It really depends on the waveform crossing intensity, a modified sine can also be known as square wave, i have had Computer PSUs make buzzing sounds on modified sine inverters. Short term is fine, but if you are expecting 2 hours a day every day, it's just safer to go pure sine.

The funny thing is that for a computer, you are going from DC battery to AC back to DC power. But such is life, just imagine if Edison instead of Tesla won.

Are there any inverter-battery solutions that also provide 12 DC outlet such as a car socket?

How would this do with the Blue Nova mobile series/Hubble S120 lithium drop-in lead acid replacement batteries?

I'm using the 2 1500 models, with hubble since March, so far so good.

Would the following comment regarding float charge voltage around 14V be a problem?

One of the comments from Takealot:

C - 22 Nov 2021

Pros: Quiet. Gets the job done. Cons: Float charge voltage of around 14V, so your battery isn't going to last very long. Very high power consumption in standby mode. Rather than using the built-in charger, connect to solar panels and controller or a standalone intelligent charger.

Any idea how noisy that device is?

Would I be able to put in a bedroom cupboard and not have it disturb me with beeps and excessive fan noise?

I'd probably run it with the supplied batteries and when those are shot replace with Hubble S120 drop-in's (assuming it's compatible)
