Good day all,

Im a young guy, been working overseas for a few years and have pretty much no credit history in SA.

What are some easy ways to start building a bit of a history?

I won't be earning a regular income either as I'm studying.. Living off savings pretty much.

Cheers

Get an Edgar's account. Buy something every couple months and pay it off ASAP.

You've gotta first tell us where you worked, how many years and how it's like being back home. :)
Yea like the guy above said, open a retail account and pay it off.
Were you putting monthly deposits into a cheque account?
Management of a cheque or credit card helps too.
Take out a credit card and use less than half of it but make sure minimum payments are done on time.

I buy things on my credit card and just pay it off ASAP. I do make sure that what I buy on my credit card I have funds available on my cheque account.

You could also take out a cellphone contract. You just pay monthly for what you use but even the fixed rate contracts like the topup products are considered to be credit and will earn you a credit history.
