there are always enough policemen to enforce these kinds of rules - easy to pick on groups who won't shoot/bomb/knife you.

We've seen this most recently at the Champions League Final at the Stade de France - it was the local skollies causing all the kuk (petty theft, theft, muggings, fake tickets, gatecrashing) - who did the police go after - that's right - the football fans - 'cos they're an easy target.

The thing is the expat communities in these countries are generally well behaved because you under a resident visa and can be deported, tourist are not that much

With the influx of people on this scale In one place it's pretty much just around Doha not spread around a country.

Don't think they going cope.

They're used to treating people (especially foreigners) like dirt in the Arab countries - can't see them changing that quickly.

Usually "can't cope" translates into "moer everyone" and pick up the pieces afterwards.

But ja, we'll see.

Who knows - maybe it will go off incident free and they turn a blind eye to things that usually trigger them.

The question is not if it will go incident free, will you hear about it?

These places generally very good at hiding bad press for the most part.

Anyway World Cup is going to be a party can't wait.
