Seems your argument comes down to nudists. I don't ever remember reading about the suffering of nudists at the hands of religious and/or national authorities.
It comes down to liberty. Now, I am not a nudist and am glad they are not allowed to be nude wherever they go,
but Nudism is a lifestyle for some people, yet, they are laws prohibiting them from being nude wherever they want and yes, you can be jailed for public nudity.

So it's okay that they are oppressed as long as you get to fly your flag?
That is selfish and hypocritical.

Here are the facts
Just, because you want something does not mean you can have it all the time, because you are not on this planet alone.

So you cannot fly your rainbow flag at a football match.
Get over it.
You don't see the nudist bitch and moan that he cant have his todger out at a football match.

Say that at a restaurant with a group of old nudist men sitting at the table next to you.
Within reason obviously. Nude folks out in general public tends to make others feel unsafe and uncomfortable. I personally don't have an issue with it, but I understand why some do. Not so with some damn flag. Especially if it's got political connotations.

May as well argue personal liberty means we should be free to kill each other. Human rights and our respect for each other within society still remains a thing.

I have nothing against the LGBT community, but I feel that "when in Rome do as the Romans do", even if it is an international event, if the host country's culture prohibits it, why pushes their buttons on purpose in public just to show that your country offers you a higher degree of freedom and does things differently.
Point is it wasn't the best place to host this event... perhaps next time they can host in NK

Yes. Exactly.
Agree or not, some people feel uncomfortable around gay people.
some people are just sick of the gay agenda being forced everywhere.

We are not on this planet alone.
There is a time and a place for everything.

So I just want to understand this - do the guys who say waving gay flags should be banned at sporting events in muslim countries, also feel that the old SA flag should ALSO not be waved at a sporting events because of its history?

What is the difference between these two pieces of fabric?

Because people are still getting murdered because of their sexual preferences.
Because of places like Qatar

What politics ? Its about human rights. The fact that someone walking in with a rainbow on their shirt might end up in jail is enough of a reason to "get it"

WTF are you on about?
Here is what I don't get.
Why do you want to fly a rainbow flag at a football match.

Explain that part to me.

So there is a time and a place for LGBTQ+ people? It's not an agenda. It's reality.

You can be gay at a football match all you want.
doesn't mean everyone wants to see it.

You can be a nudist all you want.
Doesn't mean everyone wants to see it all the time.

You can be what and who you want, but why do you want to advertise it where ever you go?

True, the western countries are still the best places to host these types of international events, i guess FIFA was offered too much money to refuse.

Why wouldn't they have access to alcohol?
Alot of European football Stadiums don't allow alcohol in the stands so not much of a change.

Will be fan parks outside for this.
Read up on the laws regarding alcohol in Qatar ,

limited to select hotels, restaurants

You really don't get it? The problem is people can't be gay in Qatar because of their backwards laws.
It's not like people are going to bareback in the middle of the stadium. So, I still don't get your comparison to nudism.

That still means they will have access to it. Non Muslims will have access to alcohol for private consumption and usually tourists can buy as well.

Both are banned, only nudism is banned globally, except certain nudist allowed areas. Remember when you brought up apartheid....?

Being gay in Qatar is banned. I get it. They are bigots overall and I would never go there anyway, nor do I agree with their laws. You can stop beating the dead horse.

I still don't get the flag thing. . .
Why did the bigots feel the need to ban gay flags in the first place?
I don't understand why there would be gay flags at a football match.
Are people flying gay flags at football matches in non bigoted countries?
As I asked before, why is there a sudden need for gays to advertise they are gay wherever they go lately?
