Hi guys.

Don't know if this is in the correct place. But its one of the few places MBB would let me post a new topic.

I have tried finding info on this and cant find a clear answer. I have emailed SARS and tried calling but have had no response from them.

I would like to know what the import duties would be on adult toys. Both vibrating and non vibrating. As it seems that makes a difference.

Also would it make a difference if the toys were made out of different materials such as glass or aluminium.

Thanks for the help if anybody can provide it.

when bringing in weird things not really found in SA (custom Dice, MTG cards, figurines and other really nerdy things) sometimes the curier tells you. either it is an additional charge on the shipping cost, or you get call when it gets here, or if you use fedex the item sits in customs until you call them to find out what is up. dont use fedex if you can avoid it.

Kevin is this for bulk regular purchases or just a once off to get your girl through a dry patch...or maybe yourself? I don't judge.

Maybe a link to the toy and the shop, will let us get a better idea if import taxable :erm:
Can VR gear be classified as Adult toy :erm:

Ask the company that will be sending it through to you what the tariff code for it is. You will then be able to get what the customs duty on it will be.

Tarrif heading 8459.2 - "Other Drilling Machines" - No customs duty. :D

Or maybe...

Tarrif heading 8509.8 - "Electro-mechanical domestic appliances, with self contained electric motor (Other appliances)" - No customs duty. :D

There are no import duties, however, customs might want to test it first to determine whether it is an explosive device
