I'll explain the ONLY way i can currently view my bundle usage on >>contract<<:

On mtnactive :

1. Insert Phone #

**wait

2. Insert Pin [yes it's 2 steps here]

**wait

3. Click Services
3.1 If you have more than 1 contract on your account you now need to "Select subscriber" first.

**wait

4.Click Invoices

**wait

5. Click Unbilled

**wait

6. Scroll all the way to the bottom and then see usage which are already outdated .

Each "**wait" is actually a full load of the entire page and can take AGES.

So what alternatives do i have?? Seriously, that's insane.

-------------In contrast on Vodacom

1. Insert Phone # and Password [yes one step]

**wait

2. On the INSTANT ROLLOUT MENUS [like your windows start menu]
-> My Account -> Data Bundles -> Click

**wait

3. See info right there.

I received this by email, maybe it's what you are looking for:
I called MTN support and found out about a USSD command for subscription data bundles:

*162*<password>*1#

This takes you to a menu that offers information about your remaining bytes / minutes on bundles.
The 1st item on the menu is "1. All bundles", but for some reason the USSD command:

*162*<password>*1*1# won't take you directly into it... for some reason the USDD menu stops at the first level of menu selection. BTW:- The password for any subscriber can be set up (one time basis) by calling 0831238000.

Uhm, yea...trouble is you need a phone or a special app to send those commands, but i'll look into it. It's just absurd that you take out a -data contract- [not voice] and you get a
-data modem- with it, but expect one to use USSD commands ? .

Vodacom at least have an SMS service [SMS word "balance" to 100 and voila you receive results in your windows application which all support SMS] ....i see no reason why MTN can't have the same ...
