Preposterous.
There is nothing we can do to mitigate climate change. It's happening - as it always has - without us.
As usual, you missed the point.
Climate change happens, sure, but not to the degree that human interaction has done.

This article/heading is misleading/clickbait, this is based on having to doubling the global energy supply, picking a random number for it and summing it over 30 years; never mind that renewable is currently also the cheapest way to do this.
Article also assumes power consumption constantly increases, meanwhile worldwide power increase hasn't actually been much over the last two decades, this is mostly due to better energy efficiency requirements (LED is probably one of the largest contributors of it).

R1.35 quadrillion needed to prevent worst effects of climate change

Governments and companies will need to invest at least $92 trillion (R1.35 quadrillion) by 2050 in order to cut emissions fast enough to prevent the worst effects of climate change.

Erm, would say too late to try and save it.

In the last couple of days alone:
50°C Heatwaves hitting USA/Canada, Loads of fires still ongoing
Massive Flooding in Gernany and China

With glaziers melting at alarming rate and globally recording this year already the warmest year ever. We already hitting the +1°C mark with only 0.5°C spare. Planet is fine.... humans are "fornicated"

What horseshit twaddle. We're already at 1.3C, the locked-in future warming and tipping points put us at 2.5C+, the game is done already, we've screwed the pooch even if we stop everything tomorrow, but we're still playing pretend, should be adjusting for full-scale climate change mitigation or adapation but that would signal panic and market confidence etc., this is just lip service from the powers that be just like China promising zero by 2060, having a fat laugh. What's happening with Elon Musk's $$ Grade 5 high school miracle machine CO2-sequestering competition? Any lucky winners yet? We're putting the gas on RCP 8.5 not slowing it down, going to be a fun ride, happening sooner than expected as it goes in this space.

They involve a revamp of the bloc’s emissions trading program, under which companies pay for carbon dioxide they emit, and introduce taxes on shipping and aviation fuels for the first time.
