R100m overpaid for petrol
One wonders if this sort of thing hasn't been going along all the time?
If this was one individual civil servant, he/she should be fired.
In our business we see the price of fuel is used so much with suppliers who push up the Transport Cost of our Stock whenever the fuel price escalates.
At the moment the Industry I am in charges about 10% of the value just for Delivery. Some up to 17,5% who travel from Guateng to Cape Town.
Any excuse to squeeze a few more pennies out of us from Government.
Ai Kona.
Economists and petroleum companies launched a scathing attack on government last month for its one-sided decision to break away from the agreed price formula.
They criticised government for only giving a cut of 50c a litre through to consumers instead of the full 61c over-recovery on a litre of petrol.
And consumers paid heavily for this untested decision by a civil servant.
