How the hell does Barnes get that kind of salary package? WTF

simple, nobody advertises these jobs, just like head of IT at SARS.
so if your the father, of the 2nd cousin twice removed of somebody who works there.

youll get the job, even though you can barely hold a teaspoon

simple corruption is how you get these jobs, not based on any actual ability.

I give up...

Just don't expect any e-toll or TV licensing fees from me. The things that are in my control, won't be lining your pockets any further.

Why are you saying it like you paid TV license or e-toll before this article...

AFAIK, Barns was very successful in business before offering to help at SAPO.
He's helping as a public service.

I just think the problem bigger than he thought.

Many South Africans have expressed outrage at Sars chief officer for digital and IT, Mmamathe Makhekhe-Mokhuane, earning over R3 million a year.

The anger comes after Makhekhe-Mokhuane made headlines following her appearance in an SABC TV interview.

Sickening. SAPO should be killed & let private enterprise take over - they already do 90% of the work anyway!

How can the article be an opinion piece if written by "Staff Writer" aka ghost.

In order to be an opinion piece someone has to put their name to it..............

Its just words... churned out... at random, based on what is currently going on. Even bots have opinions..

... and to get a R4m paycheck

I think the problem he encountered was that he was expecting to turn the SAPO around as though it was a private company. Retrench excess staff, cut costs etc. Then the guavamint stepped in and said no, he can't retrench people, he must make it profitable without making any changes so they don't end up with angry voters and labor unions.

Don't think Mark Barnes is the dumbass IT Admin who can't keep track of domain renewals and web hosting issues.
