Yes BUT am I right when I read that it says "National Coverage"? Would that mean it works on both MTN and Telkom Mobile? If so then its not a bad deal actually. Its only bad when you will be using in a Telkom Coverage area the whole time then you would be losing.

OHHH I was right. Buy all those staterpacks NOW people.... They changed it to all networks data!!!

This is a R49 internet staterpack sim with a few months left I keep as backup. Just connected to it and apart from the 26Mbps connection speed I see they changed it to ALL networks data. So whether you use it on MTN ot TM it will work. Pretty cool.

Right, it is also on my statement. These old starter packs are "all network" now!

So that means get them while they are hot. Best places to get I think would be places like edgars,Jet,shoprite and checkers that might have old stock left.

I would say best place to get would be checkers or shoprite. They rica at another counter and not at the tills so you can buy like 3 or more and rica them when you need them. The benefit is only activated when you rica it so you can keep them for later use. :)

My current 12 months will end in dec
Ported number to TM
I bought the internet starter pack
Converted it to Sim Sonke
Had my no. Ported to Sim Sonke
If I bought another internet starter pack
Do the Sim Sonke conversion
Would TM port the Current Sim Sonke to the new one ?

I don't think that would work. You would need to port to another network. Wait 2 months. Then port back to the internet staterpack you want to use.

I got it Rica already, but I need it only in December. T&C says that activation starts after Rica and after receiving SMS with assigned number.

Maybe Telkom rep will clarify here: If I put such SIM (which has been Rica now) in the phone in December, it will December activation date?

I just bought what I thought was the new pack today. Except, it is the old pack. And it is all network! Double the data I expected - score!!

How long are these packs valid for if left un-rica'd?

Hi sajunky

We have replied to your PM. The activation date will be from the date the SIM was Rica'd.

Fantastic news.... Will come in handy for the tablet. Hopefully I will manage to find the old price somewhere. Have any of you checked PEP, Shoprite , Checkers, Edgars Mobile(Jet, Edgars, CNA). That explains why a certain town had stock of the sim cards but had no Telkom Mobile coverage....... I take it the sim card will automatic roam with old sim cards or does one have to do it manually

Yeah it would be automatic. Telkom killed the roaming restrictions long time for all simcards and all tarrif plans. All sims can roam but you just need to make sure you have the right bundle activated. These simcards by default have "all networks data recurring" loaded so Telkom or MTN would work. Pretty cool.

Would be even better if they can manage to get MTN LTE roaming too then it would be the best deal on the market.
