R49 MTN mobile broadband promotion

R49.00 for 500mb of data every month is still too expensive! They should have made it 1gb of data at that price.

Why is south Africa taking such a long time to move into cheaper and better broadband for all?

Except you can't add it to your smart phone contract. 500MB is pretty much useless for anything but mobile use and you can't use it for that. What a useless, stupid product. Get with the times you useless bastards.

This is just a promotion for its own sake, to show that "they really care". Basically, it is no real good at all, except for plain (text only) email with no pictures.

MTN network is USELESS from where I live in Kimberley. Youtube videos buffers forever and downloads are only at 11kb per second. Feels like dial-up.

Eish, nobody on this planet can live with only 500MB in this day and age, I will waste that 500MB watching a couple of youtube videos!

MTN, you are a sh*tty mobile operator.

They should've read the recent 'Tell us what you want' thread, and saved themselves the embarasment

+1

VodaCom and MTN must still be having tea together in the 20th century.

And let me guess, I can't add this on to my existing phone contract.

I feel R49 for 500MB is pretty fair.

However, it would be greaat if it were on prepaid.

Not on contract.

And its a pity that one cannot add it to one's contract. I really don't understand why that can't be.

And why don't you make it available on 1, 3, 6, 12 and 18 month contracts too.

So much leverage - so little intiative MTN (and the rest of the players in the industry).

still with the "contract only" .... surely offering prepaid has more benefits, not just for consumers?
Sure, with prepaid, network can't stand rubbing hands, waiting for fat profit outofbundle charges to come in,... but there's also no billing issues, payment issues, upfront payment, and also, getting buy-in from consumers who would rather stay away, than get involved in a lengthy contract?

ag anyway... i cant use this promo in anycase... bad MTN signal where i need modem usage, (STILL) no online web service to check/load data bundle , ... but still we need the network operators to start moving towards less restricting offerings

Only available until the 31st July?

Ok that's just plain retarded. They don't even give people a weekend where they can sign up for the deal, are they expecting people to take off from work at such a short notice?

The don't take reality in consideration, do they...

not to mention all the red tape that usually goes with applying for a contract, documents etc required
